California’s Online Poker Coalition Headed by PokerStarsALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

california pokerPokerStars has joined forces with a number of California tribal casinos and cardrooms to launch an online poker coalition in an effort to promote an open and fair market for any future regulated internet poker market in the state.

The new ‘Californians for Responsible iPoker’ group features five tribal-gaming groups as well as the Commerce, Bicycle and Hawaiian Gardens cardrooms.

Each member of the group has already reached an agreement with PokerStars to use the online poker operator’s software should the state opt to regulate internet poker activities.

PokerStars said the group will enable it to demonstrate in state-level hearings the consumer respect for itself as an operator as well as for well-regulated and protected open-market policies that the group promotes.

In order to fit in with this aim, the Californians for Responsible iPoker coalition has published a lengthy list of policies that demonstrate its goals.

Such policies are categorised under main headings that cover consumers having access to trusted online poker brands, the extension of California’s consumer protections regarding intrastate online poker, ensuring residents in the state benefit from regulation and the need for operators to undergo a vetting process before being issued with a licence.

Playboy Pushes Poker Player Krupa for Dancing AwardALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Sometime-aspiring poker player Joanna Krupa aims to be the "Dancing with the Stars" champion, with a little help from Playboy.

The "Dancing with the Stars" competition is going beyond an appreciation of the merits to out-and-out lobbying, in this case by Playboy for erstwhile poker player Joanna Krupa. The magazine is e-mailing consumers, asking that they support the model-turned-card-player-turned-dancer by voting for her in the competition.

Krupa is one of several poker celebrities whose modeling has led to a strange relationship with the game. Her good looks and modeling portfolio gave her an opportunity as an on-air personality for poker television, and she used the exposure to publicize herself as a nascent student of poker.

While Krupa became the spokesmodel for Titan Poker, she also alluded to her own playing, receiving a reputation without having perhaps done her time in the trenches. Clearly, an attraction to cards would not slow Krupa's drive to fame, as she posed for Playboy and Sports Illustrated.

Krupa is in the current competition of "Dancing," competing against a group of barely-known celebs along with oddball inclusions like Tom DeLay, the former House Majority Leader, and ex-Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin. Krupa already was near the top of a crowded field, but the push by Playboy to collect votes even from those not watching the show may lead her to the top.

Krupa doesn't even bother to her list what passes for her poker resume on her "Dancing" page, preferring to list her modeling accomplishments. But poker players will still remember her as one of the beauties of the game, if not one of poker's masters.

As Alabama Gaming Fight Goes On, Operator Eyes New YorkALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Published on January 28, 2014 by April Gardner

Gaming operators in the state of Alabama have been in a constant battle with lawmakers over the legality of electronic gaming machines. The Attorney general has made it clear that he believes the machines are illegal, while gaming hall owners maintain that their operations are within the law.

While the debate has again heated up in Alabama, one operator is setting their sights on a much bigger market, New York. Greenetrack, which operates a casino in Greene County, stated this week that they would like to open a casino in the Catskills.

"We expect that our bid will be seriously considered should we choose to apply for the gaming license." said Greenetrack, in a statement to The Post. "Accordingly, Greenetrack is building a team to explore this possibility as well as to handle community outreach across the state and to educate New Yorkers on Greenetrack's accomplished casino gaming operation."

Greenetrack was one of several Alabama locations that was raided by law enforcement officials back in 2011. Nearly 400 machines were seized during the operation, with the Attorney general citing Alabama law prohibiting slot machines as a reason for the raids.

Several of the gaming establishments, including Greenetrack, re-opened after the raids. The owners of Greenetrack claim that Green County voters approved the electronic gaming machines back in 2003. The Supreme Court has made a couple of individual case rulings on the machines, but nothing that would give a definitive answer as to whether or not the machines are legal under state law.

The Alabama gaming industry made national headlines when Milton McGregor and Ronnie Gilley, developers of VictoryLand and Country Crossings casinos, respectively, were arrested on charges of bribing state Senators. Gilley pleaded guilty, while McGregor beat his case in court. Over a dozen lobbyists and senators were also charged in the case.

It has been reported that Greenetrack has ties to the Reverend Al Sharpton, but Sharpton has denied having any knowledge of Greenetrack's desire to open a casino in the Catskills.

PCA 2014: Americas Cup of Poker, the Selbst effectALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Vanessa Selbst isn't playing in the Americas Cup of Poker today. She's not a captain, she's not a coach, heck, she might not even know it's happening just paces away from her expanding Main Event chip stack. Nonetheless she's had a major impact on today's proceedings.

Meet Astrid Silvana Periera Fernandez, America Marconi and Florella del Rasario Davila Reo. The trio are something of a first at the Americas Cup in that they're the competition's only female players in history. And for one of them at least, it's all because of that lady Selbst.

"She's the leader of the pack," Periera, the most competent English speaker of the group, says of poker's all-time female money winner. "She's motivated so many women to think 'yes I can', I as a woman can play poker and I can succeed and do a good job."

pca2014.acp.ladies-2014-2.jpg

The Americas Cup's female contingent. From left to right: Marconi, Periera & Florella

Periera, a lawyer who grew up in Boston before returning to Chile three years ago, knows that today's job is to help her country through to the Americas Cup final. Getting here wasn't easy -- she had to beat more than 1,000 Chileans across 68 tournaments to earn the points necessary to play today's event -- but she's definitely making the most of her opportunity and finishing third on her table of six will have gone some way towards completing that job.

The $1,000 she's already won by taking part is $513 bigger than her career-best poker score, and whatever happens over the next 36 hours or so, all this is an experience she'll clearly never forget.

"I'm loving it," she says during a break in Americas Cup action. "I'm taking picture of all the Team PokerStars Pros I can find and I've been sending them back home."

Like many in paradise this week, Periera et al are living the dream and those pictures will make a great addition to her busy blog, where she's sharing the experience with all her friends back home. Those experiences might include the time she met Daniel Negreanu and he told her unimpressed daughter that he's "el numero uno", or maybe the time Team Chile captain, Amos Ben, wrongly advised her to use "cojones" to get through today's tournament.

If her team wins this week's event and pockets $32,500, though, those experiences will almost certainly include a trip to this Sunday's $1,000 buy-in Women's Event.

pca2014.acp.silvana pereira--3.jpg

Periera laying down the law in today's first round

"It's completely out of my bankroll, but that's what I want to do," says Periera, who goes by the screen name 'Silly2127' on PokerStars. "I'm glad I'm playing today with these guys, they're all wonderful. But playing with the best women in the planet, that'll be a dream come true."

There she might actually get to play against Selbst. Who knows, she might even beat her? You see, for Selbst that's arguably the only downside to cashing every tournament and motivating an entire gender: every once in a while, she might just get busted by the very people her success helped inspire.

LAPT8 Uruguay: Down to 16, Lopez still leadsALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

It's not uncommon for players to try and hold on to their stacks while they try to make a payjump, but our chip leader was still in the process of stacking his chips when we lost our first player and made a payjump.

While everyone else in the tournament already had their stacks neatly assembled and ready to go, Mario Lopez was still building his 706,000-chip tower.

A player was even eliminated at Lopez's table before he was done.

Mario_Lopez_LAPT8UruguayDay3.jpeg

Mario Lopez

A short-stacked Victorino Piedrabuena moved all-in with T♠8♠ and Bryce Daifuku called with A♣J♠. Piedrabuena wasn't able to improve and finished in 24th place for $6,840.

When the remaining 16-minutes of the level were done, the floor took a quick 5-minute break to color up the T500 chips.
That seemed to be all players needed to kick things into high gear.

In the first 30 minutes of the level, players were already down to the final two tables.

Daifuku was one of those eliminated after he lost a large portion of his chips in another elimination.

Bryce_Daifuku_LAPT8URuguay.jpeg

Bryce Daifuku

In that hand, Pablo Errotamendia moved all-in for 50,000, Daniel Ades re-shoved for about 100,000 and then Daifuku also moved all-in for about 200,000. The rest of the table folded.

Errotamendia showed the worst hand with K♥J♠ while Daifuku's J♣J♦ were second-best to Ades's A♣A♦.

The board ran 3♥9♣7♦T♠T♦ and Errotamendia was eliminated in 22nd place while Ades chipped up to about 280,000 and Daifuku fell to 100,000.

Daifuku was able to hang on for some time but would end up falling in 18th place.

But before Daifuku hit the rail, we lost our last red spade in the field.

Ariel Eghi raised to 20,000 from under-the-gun and Felipe Mojave moved all-in for 103,000 from the small blind. Eghi called and Mojave was flipping for his tournament life with A♠Q♣ to Eghi's 6♣6♠.

Felipe_Mojave_LAPT8Uruguay.jpeg

Felipe Mojave

The 3♠8♠K♣7♦3♦ board brought no help for Mojave and the Friend of PokerStars was eliminated in 21st and earned $7,620.

Then we lost our reigning LAPT champion.

Claudio Moya, who won the last stop in Peru, wasn't able to pull back-to-back victories.

On the turn of a king-high board with two diamonds, Moya check-called all-in with the nut flush draw but Ruben Barros had the lead with top pair.

Barros's hand held up and Moya won $8,400 for finishing 19th.

Daifuku quickly followed him out in 18th ($8,400), and by the time he reached the payout cage, Amos Ben was eliminated in 17th ($9,560).

The floor started redrawing to our final two tables.

THE SIMPSONS video slot machine--SCIENTIFIC GAMESALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Scientific Games announced a new partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Gracie Films to create a themed slot machine based on the longest running scripted television series THE SIMPSONS.  The never before seen Gamescape cabinet was officially unveiled in Scientific Games' booth #1126 at the Global Gaming Expo ("G2E"). The slot theme will star Homer and Marge Simpson, Moe, Apu, Chief Wiggum and many other iconic characters from the show.

"THE SIMPSONS game on our new Gamescape cabinet combines one of the most recognizable and beloved brands in the world with some of the greatest innovations in the gaming industry," said Derik Mooberry, Scientific Games' group chief executive, gaming. "We are extremely proud to work closely with Fox Consumer Products and Gracie Films on the development of this game, and believe players around the globe will be thrilled with the experience."

"Our teams worked extremely hard to ensure the first SIMPSONS-themed slot machine is a true testament to the brand, providing a truly immersive experience," said Jeffrey Godsick, president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products. "With dynamic new content, attention to detail -and a few surprises- Scientific Games is creating an entertaining gaming experience that we know fans will enjoy."

The pioneering Gamescape cabinet utilizes three vivid, high-definition displays that angle toward the player, and a 40-inch curved top screen that surrounds the player. Additionally, an ergonomic 10.4-inch tablet button panel integrates gameplay to coordinate graphics across multiple displays. The result is five unique screens that virtually combine to create an expanded platform for stunning graphics and seamless motion.

Lighting around the edge of each display envelops the player. An integrated sound bar completes the sensory experience by delivering 3D stereo sound, without the need for a sound chair. The sound bar matches the width of the cabinet so that stereo sound moves not only from right to left but up and down as well.

Eureka5 Hamburg Day 1D: Will the real Ole Schemion please stand upALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Ole Schemion, the EPT 10 Player of the Season and two-time GPI Player of the Year, has held the unofficial title as the hottest young player on the planet for a good while now. Here's the thing though: his reign may be over.

There's a new kid on the block. Not even 20 years of age and tearing up the poker world just like Schemion did, and is still doing. The name's Urbanovich, Dzmitry Urbanovich. The young Pole's first cash was fewer than two years ago and he's already top of Poland's All Time Money List and is the current EPT Player of the Season (11).

Eureka5_Hamburg_Ole Schemion.jpg

Ole Schemion

Both are registered here today so we thought it'd be interesting to compare their first 22 months on the live circuit, the time since Urbanovich's first cash. (For those viewing on a mobile device, Urbanovich's stats are the first one in each category)

Stats for first 22 months of live careerDzmitry UrbanovichOle Schemion
Number of wins85
Highest cash$1,595,368$ 1,474,671
Different countries cashed in912
Number of cashes3839
Average cash$73,012$67,491
Total Earnings $2,774,446$2,632,131

As you can see, their stats are remarkably similar, making it hard to choose who's been the best "Rookie" this decade. What is known is that Schemion has gone on to earn another $5.4 million in his third and fourth year on the circuit, and if Urbanovich can match that, he'll be following his German competitor on the road to poker greatness.

dzmitry_urbanovich_second_win_malta.jpg

Urbanovich winning one of four events at EPT11 Malta

Urbanovich hasn't taken his seat yet today so is letting Schemion get a head start on him in the Main Event. The latter has already past the 60,000-mark through the first three levels.

In one hand, he min raised to 300 and picked up two callers en route to a 4♦6♦A♥ flop. He made a continuation bet and both his opponents folded in flash. Maybe Schemion's aura is in a relatively small buy-in event for him.

Here are some chip counts after three levels:

Alan Lang holds even 67,000
Stefan Ragalie - 57,000
Timo Schneider - 39,000
Commander Warrior - 28,000
January Heitmann - 27,000
Ismail Kalkan - 26,000
Natalie Hof - 25,500
T-zone - 17,000
Claudio Celenza - 7,000
Ronny Voth - 6,500

Kevin Barkow, Oliver Neimann and Kai Hinrichs were the only three players to bust through the first three levels.

Eureka Hamburg Key Facts:
- Players begin with 25,000 chips (an increase from Season 4's 20,000)
- Blinds start at 25/50
- Twelve 45-minute levels make up Day 1D
- Day 1D is a sell 200-player out

Tribal Casinos Split On Internet Poker PositionALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Internet poker bills are circulating on both federal and state levels, and tribes operating Indian casinos are divided as to their position on regulating this online gambling.

Indian tribes operating regional casinos are divided as to whether to support or oppose legislation brewing to regulate Internet poker. Bills both before Congress and in several state legislatures propose rules for online poker regulation, causing debate among tribal leaders.

Both Barney Frank's bill seeking to regulate online gambling on a national level and measures in states including California, Florida, Iowa, and New Jersey are designed to establish regulated intrastate online poker. Frank's bill would essentially render the UIGEA moot, while the local proposals would act under its guidance, keeping play and operation within state borders.

In California, the Morongo Band of Mission Indians has been a leader in advocating intrastate Internet poker. The tribe is pushing a bill that would partner tribal casinos with state-licensed card rooms as online gaming operators.

Morongo representatives say online poker players are a new market, separate from the customers patronizing the land-based casinos, and would increase the gambling revenue of tribes. But other tribes disagree, saying Internet poker would simply divert customers from one form of gaming to another, and that online poker regulations could open the door to loopholes allowing states to cancel gambling compacts.

“Card game gambling on the Internet would take business away from brick-and-mortar casinos,” Robert Smith, chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians said in a letter he wrote to the California legislature.

While many California tribes, possessing one of the nation's strongest gaming compacts, are wary of cannibalization of their slot players by online poker, tribes in other states are less worried. Tribes located in less populous states see online gambling operations as their key to successfully using the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

“The Internet gives remote operations an opportunity to generate incremental revenue they otherwise would not have gotten," said legal gaming expert Anthony Cabot to Indian Country Today. " It becomes a separate sort of industry as opposed to a complimentary sort of industry.”

Wynn Resorts Enters The Internet Casino Race In New JerseyALL COUNTRIES CAN PLAY @ ATLANTIS GOLD CASINO!
panthercasino.com sport betting and casino

Published on August 22, 2013 by April Gardner

Wynn Resorts owner and founder Steve Wynn has been one of the most vocal voices in pushing for Internet gambling regulations around the US. Wynn's gaming empire includes top casino resorts not only in the US, but also in gaming mecca Macau.

Now, Wynn Resorts is ready to bring their brand to the Internet, and they are targeting the latest state to regulate online gambling. On Thursday, Wynn announced that they have submitted an application for an Internet gaming license in New Jersey.

The application process in New Jersey has been smooth, with over 25 companies applying for the valuable certificates. Wynn, it would seem, would have the inside track with their track record of operating some of the most well-recognized casinos in the world.

"It comes as no surprise that Wynn Resorts has applied for an Internet license in New Jersey," said analyst Trevor Cambs. "Steve Wynn has been a proponent of Internet gambling, and has been at the forefront of some of the most historic developments within the gaming industry. This is just the next step for the company to continue their dominance within the industry."

The New Jersey application is considered by some to be a reach for Wynn Resorts. Regulators have already said that gaming owners operating casinos in Atlantic City will have the first opportunity to receive Internet gaming licenses. Wynn Resorts does not have any casino facilities in New Jersey.

While Nevada and Delaware have also regulated online gambling in recent years, New Jersey is predicted to be the crown jewel within the industry. Analysts have predicted that New Jersey online casinos could generate up to $1 billion each year. In comparison, the estimated revenue from Nevada online casinos is just shorty of $250 million.

"In Nevada, much of their gaming business comes from travelers visiting Las Vegas," said Cambs. "There is not as big a market for online casinos as there is in New Jersey. The key to how much revenue is generated could lie in how these states work together to share customers."

Federal law prohibits Internet gambling to cross state lines, but New Jersey and Nevada have included laws in their gaming regulations that leaves the door open for the two states to eventually work together and share customers. Federal lawmakers are also busy working on legislation that would regulate Internet gambling on a national level.
