Online Casino Sued For Trademark Infringement by Station Casinos

The online casino operator has already previously lost trademark infringement charges to MGM Mirage, and now's accused of using Station Casinos brands for its Internet domain names.

Play Now at Golden Casino! An Internet gambling operator based in Panama is facing a lawsuit by a Las Vegas casino company for the second one time. The net casino operator has already previously lost trademark infringement charges to MGM Mirage, and now's accused of using Station Casinos brands for its Internet domain names.

Smart Answer lost the same suit last year for using MGM Mirage names like Bellagio, Circus Circus, and Mandalay Bay to lure patrons to its Internet casinos. MGM won an injunction against the Panamanian outfit, and was granted $2.2 million in damages.

MGM took over the disputed domain names, but was unable to assemble damages.

Stations says Smart Answer has now arrange websites using trademarks including Palace Station, Boulder Station, and Sunset Station. Stations Casinos says the sites all link to online gambling site Golden Casino.

"Defendants' actions have disrupted or are intended to disrupt plaintiff's business by, among other things, diverting web users clear of plaintiffs' Internet sites and to the net gambling Web page defendants associated with the infringing domain names," the lawsuit stated.

Station officials hope to get an injunction barring further use in their brands. Damages also are sought, though the MGM case indicates there is difficulty in any actual collecting of monies awarded.

Online Casino Regulation Foreseen on CNBC Financial News

Experts discussing the way forward for US gaming on CNBC say they believe regulated online casinos within the US are just an issue of time.

The CNBC financial news program "Closing Bell" addressed the possibilities of online casinos being regulated within the US yesterday. Two representatives of analytical firms were hosted by Melissa Francis, who conducted a discussion of the way forward for the united states gaming industry, particularly in regard to online gambling.

David Katz of Oppenheimer and Andrew Parmentire of Height Analytics both gave viewpoints that regulated and certified Internet gambling within the US isn't a question of if, but if. The 2 didn't raise debate in regards to the philosophical importance of allowing individual freedom, but checked out the more pragmatic needs of the land-based casino businesses and the U.S. desire for the revenue which may be created.

Katz said the switch to online casino emphasis even by entrenched land operators is solely natural, considering limitations inherent in land gaming venues.

"There’s a finite opportunity for the brick-and-mortar guys to expand within the Usa and at some point, they need to start thinking globally,” stated Katz at the program.

"Congress and states are in desperate need for money, and $50 billion can offset a large number of social programs that Democrats are pushing these days,” added Parmentire.

The show coincided with the worldwide Gaming Expo currently ongoing in Las Vegas.

Poker Shut Down in Russia as Federation Ordered Closed

Poker, until recently a blossoming game in Russia, isn't outlawed with all casino gambling, resulting in a state demand that the Russian poker federation be closed.

The continuing assault by the Russian government on casino gambling, which quickly spread to envelop poker, has resulted in an order from the country's Prosecutor General to the Justice Ministry demanding the closure of the Russian Federation of Sport Poker. Authorities say the decree placing poker out of the class of sport and into the class of gambling amounts to removal of the federation's credentials.

As of July 1st, all gambling venues were ordered shuttered and gambling became illegal in all Russia, save for four distant special zones. Gaming has not developed within the zones, which lack infrastructure and can be found in unappealing and desolate areas.

Poker were exempted, as Russian law defined poker as a game of skill and, as such, under the ministry of sport. But casinos facing closure tried to morph themselves into poker rooms to skirt the brand new law, and officials acted quickly to cast poker out together with casino gambling.

The European Poker Tour had planned an August event in Russia as its first tournament within the country, but was forced on the last minute to relocate to the Ukraine.

Before the change in policy, Russian poker was booming, with players honed in online poker achieving high levels of success on the World Series of Poker and earning international respect for his or her play.

Last but not least, one final record from the EPT100 festival

There were almost countless records broken and set during EPT Barcelona last week, highlighted after all by the 1,496 players who made EPT100 the most important Main Event ever hosted by the tour on mainland Europe.

But there has been another record broken, perhaps the last of the festival, set as most of the people have tuned out of EPT Live and or crawled out of the casino on the lookout for their bed. That was the record for many people ever included in a winner's photo.

Andre Lettau Neil Stoddart sept14.jpgAndre Lettau setting EPT records

One of the last to go away after Andre Lattau finally won his first title at around 4am, was EPT photographer Neil Stoddart, who captured the comfort at the exhausted Lattau's face in addition to the delight of these who had rowdily stayed with him to the bitter end.

Stoddart then clocked off at 6.30am, and only after someone insisted that he had to dismantle and box up the table he was working on, able to be shipped back to the united kingdom.

lattua wins.jpgLattau (with friends) within the early hours of the morning

But we expect it was well worth the effort to capture admittedly a small a part of EPT history.

All American Poker Online Video Poker Review

Once a player tries the multi-handed Video Poker, going back to regular video poker is slightly boring. Especially in case you are playing All American Poker inside Club USA Casino. Club USA Casino offers lots of great online video poker games, but All American Poker just isn't one among them.

This is classic video poker at it’s best or even it’s worst. The screen is stuffed with a pay table and the cards. Players select their coin amounts after which enter credits into the sport. Once the credits are entered, players can then select as much as 5 bets per deal to wager. The more bets per deal, the upper the pay table.

This is discreet 5 card poker. Players are dealt five cards, they are able to decide to hold any of the cards, then deal yet one more time. Then players are awarded their wins. Lowest hand starts with Jacks or better and high hand is the Royal Flush.

The credit limits are between $0.05 and $5.00 per credit, as much as 5 credits, per deal. This makes the max wagers between $0.25 and $25.00 per deal. The top pay out is 4000 coins, for a Royal Flush received playing the max wagers.

There isn't much to mention about All American Poker. It's simple, but boring, and within the time played, only a few winning hands were received. Video Poker is also more enjoyable multi-handed, or no less than with a wild or joker. Club USA Casino offers Video Poker games that experience wilds and joker, plus will also be played multi-handed, players should try one in all those.

5:20pm: Fifteen-minute break

5:15pm: Leigh Warne eliminated in 5th place

Leigh Warne's tournament has come to an end and again Toothpick Tony was the destroyer.

The chips were in preflop with Warne going with A♥Q♣ but Toothpick showed Q♠Q♥. Both players' tournaments hung within the balance, because the board ran out out K♠T♠2♥5♣8♥ to go away Toothpick's ladies in front to take it down.

Warne collects $18,760 for his 5th place finish while Toothpick is as much as 580,000.

5:05pm: Nguyen collects with top pair

Toothpick Tony opened with a raise from under the gun to 32,000 and collected two callers in Khiem Nguyen and Sammy Huang to look a flop of Q♥2♣5♠. Action checked around and the turn brought the 7♠. Action again checked to Nguyen at the button who bet 55,000. Huang folded but Toothpick made the decision because the 8♠ completed the board at the river.

Toothpick checked and Nguyen bet 86,000. Toothpick quickly made the decision but mucked when Nguyen tabled Q♦T♦ for prime pair.

4:50pm: Huang finds aces

After a failed limp-re-raise in a blind battle with Khiem Nguyen, James Broom opened the action a couple of hands later with a raise to 25,000. Again Nguyen was in a punishing mood as he three-bet to 65,000 at the button. The twist was Sammy Huang getting into at the action with a flat-call from the small blind. Broom smelt a rat and folded because the two players saw a flop of K♦5♣Q♥.

Huang checked to Nguyen who bet small - just 65,000. Huang instantly declared himself all in, and just as quickly, Nguyen slammed his cards down into the muck in disgust. Huang proudly showed his A♠A♣ for one more monster hand as he climbs to 1.25 million. Nguyen is on 480,000 with Broom at 210,000.

4:30pm: A splinter for the Toothpick

Leigh Warne has taken a bite out of Toothpick Tony. Warne opened to 27,000 before Toothpick three-bet to 75,000. Action folded back to Warne who announced himself all in for 267,500 in total. Toothpick gave it some quick thought but decided to let it go.
Toothpick slips to 490,000 with Warne as much as 350,000.

4:20pm: Level up, blinds 6,000-12,000, ante 1,000

4:15pm: More for Sammy

Khiem Nguyen opened with what he intended to be a raise, but he threw out the incorrect chip denominations and was ruled to a decision. That brought in Sammy Huang and the 2 blinds to peer a flop of Q♦2♠Q♠. Action checked around and the turn was the K♠. Action checked to Nguyen who bet 22,000 with Huang making the call.

The river was the 6♠ to position four spades on board but that did not slow Nguyen who bet out 58,000. Huang thought for a moment and coupled the bet. It was an even call as Nguyen tossed his cards face down into the muck in resignation. Huang is now as much as 1.1 million.

4:05pm: Sammy Huang, the million dollar man

Sammy Huang is constant on his merry way with another big pot against James Broom. Huang opened with a raise before Broom three-bet from the small blind. Huang called and the 2 took a flop of 9♠6♣3♥.

Broom led out with a big gamble of around 85,000 but Huang instantly moved all in and Broom folded just as quickly.

"See I WILL BE ABLE TO fold ace-king!" chucked Broom, relating to their clash earlier today. Broom is back at the short stack with 180,000, with Huang now up over 1,000,000 in chips.

3:55pm: Luke Edwards eliminated in 6th place

After Leigh Warne raised from the small blind, Luke Edwards moved all in for around 100,000 from the large blind. Warne made the call.

Edwards: Q♣J♦
Warne: K♠5♣

Warne was in front together with his king and it stayed that way because the board bricked out T♠3♥6♦7♦A♠. Edwards heads home in 6th place for $15,410 in prize money.

Luke Edwards eliminated in 6th place

3:45pm: Edwards chops one

Luke Edwards have been very quiet at this final table as he struggles to search out any cards to ship his short stack into the middle.

When he finally did find A♦9♦ and moved all in, James Broom quickly called and tabled the similar hand - A♣9♣. Edwards was happy to be freerolling at the 8♥J♥5♦ flop, however the K♣ turn and 2♦ river left both players to cut it up. Edwards continues to be the quick stack with 100,000 chips.

3:30pm: Andrew Watson eliminated in 7th place

Andrew Watson opened with a raise from the cutoff to 22,000 before Khiem Nguyen made it 60,000 to move from the small blind. Action back with Watson and he moved all in for around 240,000 with Nguyen making the call.

Watson: A♥Q♣
Nguyen: 7♦7♥

The race was on but Watson missed everything at the board of 3♣5♠K♠8♥2♣. Nguyen takes the pot and moves as much as 650,000 with Watson heading to the cashier in 7th place for $12,730 in prize money.

3:20pm: Level up, blinds 5,000-10,000, ante 1,000

3:15pm: George Graziani eliminated in 9th and Tristan Bain eliminated in 8th place

WOW! AN ENORMOUS double KO has seen two players sent to the cashier as cult hero "Toothpick Tony" has stormed right into title contention.

The action started with Tristan Bain opening to 17,000 before the short-stacked George Graziano moved all in for 26,500. Play was then with Toothpick who announced a re-raise to 53,000. Bain wasn't going anywhere as he moved all in for 253,500. Toothpick thought for a couple of moments before making the call!

Bain: Q♥Q♣
Graziano: A♣6♥
Toothpick: K♥K♣

The board bricked out 3♣6♠3♦4♥7♣ to go away the kings in front. Toothpick covered both players as they were eliminated in sensational fashion. Graziano picks up $8,040 for 9th while Bain will pocket $10,050 for 8th place. Meanwhile Toothpick is up over 550,000 chips!

3:10pm: Yabba Jabba dooooo!

James Broom doesn't mind doing things the hard way, but even he shed a bead of sweat before nailing a river to double up throughout the unlucky George Graziani.

Broom open-shoved for 122,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Graziani at the button who made the call.

Broom: K♦Q♦
Graziani: A♦Q♠

Broom was in trouble however the board arrived 6♣6♠5♠7♥K♠ to land Broom a shocking three-outer river to stick alive! Broom doubles to 260,000 with Graziani now left crippled.

James Broom is relieved to seek out a river to stick alive!

2:55pm: Sammy puts the foot down

Sammy Huang has extended his chip lead after again pounding on Germany's Khiem Nguyen.

Nguyen opened to 16,500 from under the gun before Huang three-bet to 42,000 next to talk. The table folded around and Nguyen made the decision to peer a flop of Q♦T♣5♣.

Nguyen checked it over to Huang who bet 53,000. Nguyen called and the turn brought the 7♠. Nguyen checked again and Huang didn't hold back as he made it 100,000 to head. Nguyen made a reluctant fold as he slips to 360,000 with Huang now as much as 800,000.

sammy huang ft anzpt canberra.jpg

Our runaway chip leader is local Sammy Huang

2:40pm: Broom lays down a monster

With the board reading T♦K♦7♥J♥T♠, James Broom was sitting within the tank contemplating an 84,000-chip bet from Khiem Nguyen. It represented almost half Broom's stack and he was clearly having a tricky time with the decision.

Broom leant right in as regards to Nguyen on his direct left and with give up his mouth was virtually whispering into his ear. Broom didn't stop chattering nevertheless it was totally inaudible and Nguyen didn't react within the slightest. It was almost awkward to observe but after a couple of minutes of seeking to get a reaction, Broom eventually folded a shockingly strong 9♠8♠! We have seen Broom make call downs with fourth pair, now he's folding a straight!

Nguyen pads his stack to 460,000 with Broom right down to 185,000.

2:20pm: Level up, blinds 4,000-8,000, ante 500

2:05pm: Broom lands a snappy double up

The short stack of our final table, James Broom has landed a snappy double up on the expense of Andrew Watson.

Action folded to Watson at the button and he raised it to 13,500. Broom was within the small blind and he declared himself all in with Watson creating a quick call.

Watson: A♦Q♠
Broom: K♣T♣

The flop landed A♣2♣J♥ which interested both players as Watson hit a couple but Broom picked up straight and flush draws. The turn was the A♠ to go away Broom needing a club to stick alive. He called for the 3♣ but instead the 4♣ arrived which was just as pretty to offer Broom the flush to double as much as 250,000. Watson is back to 300,000.

2:00pm: Final table kicks off!

The players are back following the break and prepared for the ANZPT Canberra final table!

Here's how they're going to line up with approximate chip counts:

Seat 1: Luke Edwards (Australia) (PokerStars Qualifier) - 170,000

Atlantic City Receives Decent Casino Revenue Report

Casinos in Atlantic City are hopeful the recession is ending for them, after seeing gaming results that show revenue decline slowing significantly.

After over a year of terrifyingly rapid decline in income, Atlantic City casinos is also nearing a bottom, as September saw the velocity of decline slow dramatically. Gambling income for last month was still down by 5.8 percent, but nothing just like the 16 percent experienced in August.

"You search for the silver lining," said Harrah's executive Don Marrandino. "The game's not over yet, that's for sure."

Mark Juliano, CEO of Trump Entertainment, said he hoped the brand new results were the primary signs of stabilizing the revenue tailspin.

"The real question is how long until we come again to the consequences we saw in past years, that is the question everyone in every business has," said Juliano.

The three Trump casino resorts in Atlantic City fared worse than the common of the town's gambling resorts, with each reporting continued double-digit percentage drops in September.

The Borgata Casino, which has remained perhaps the healthiest of the brand new Jersey gaming spots, actually saw a 6 percent increase. Troubled Resorts Atlantic City, facing a shutdown, surprisingly had the second-best month with a gain of just below 4 percent.

Poker site adds touch of distinction to Turning Stone Casino

091814 GTR Turning Stone Bad beat 300In today’s increasingly complex gaming marketplace, casino resorts are constantly looking for services and products so that you can set them apart within the eyes of the shopper. Turning Stone Resort Casino, a Verona, N.Y.-based four-season resort owned and operated by the Oneida Indian Nation, has tapped its state-of-the-art poker site to perform this task.

A frequent host of CBS Sports’ “Poker Night in America,” Turning Stone is attracting celebrities and major players to its 37-table poker room, that's equipped with 12 big screen televisions, table-side food service and a educated and friendly staff. Some of the noteworthy recently pulling up a chair on the facility were Phil Hellmuth, a 13-time winner at the World Series of Poker tour, former major league baseball player Jose Conseco, Academy Award nominee Jennifer Tilly and film critic Richard Roeper.

But the influx of celebrities and professional players isn’t the one thing attracting customers and bringing them back for more. With a $250,000 jackpot at the line, growing by a couple of $1,000 each day, the poker site at Turning Stone—which is open 24 hours a day, ONE YEAR a year—is a haven for local college and amateur players, drawn not just to the massive jackpot but to the low buy-ins and $20 minimum bet tables. The poker site also offers a can-hit-any-second bad beat jackpot, that is awarded to the player with a hand that sometimes must have won, but lost to an unlikely stronger hand. Turning Stone encourages players to bring their house games to the resort to allow them to make the most of the bad beat option.

Catering to customers and numerous promotions that keep things interesting has resulted in the casino’s success. “Anytime you have a look at a customer support industry I BELIEVE the most productive measure of success is the feedback you get out of your players and the way often they arrive back,” said Jason Dibenedetto, director of poker for the casino. “For us it’s having good rapport with players, taking note of what they want, taking note of what they’re requesting and what they need, and seeking to deliver that to them. To me that’s what makes a successful room.”

Players aren’t just sticking to the poker site either. “We have just a little a mix,” Dibenedetto said. “There’s players with a view to are available here and should be looking forward to a seat to open, so that they will wander on out to the ground. A few of them wish to play the table games, some could also be craps players, they are a blackjack player, and others will venture out and play the slot machines. So we definitely do have a cross over.”

Casino Operator MGM Mirage Abandons New Jersey for Macau

Under pressure from regulators, MGM Mirage will sell its share of the Borgata Casino to be able to retain its relationship in Macau with Pansy Ho, daughter of gambling magnate Stanley Ho.

Play the Best Slots at Superslots Casino! Forced by regulators to make tough decisions, MGM Mirage officials have decided to sever ties to Atlantic City gambling so to retain their casino operating structure in Macau. The brand new Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement ruled that, with the intention to keep its license in Atlantic City, MGM must end its partnership in Macau with Pansy Ho.

Ho is the daughter of long-time Macau gambling monopolist Stanley Ho. The regulatory board objected to reputed links between the Ho family and arranged crime.

Regulators controlling MGM licensing in other states, including Nevada, have allowed the connection within the Far East to continue, but New Jersey authorities balked, saying MGM couldn't maintain its share of the Borgata Casino if it persisted in coping with Pansy Ho. MGM Mirage owns 1/2 the Borgata, while Boyd Gaming owns the opposite half.

MGM representatives say the corporate will sell its share of the Borgata over the following two years, choosing the expanding growth of the Macau gambling scene over the struggles of Atlantic City gaming.

MGM Mirage CEO Jim Murren wrote at the company website that he disagreed with the regulators' assessment of Ho, but that 'the best plan of action for our company and its shareholders is to settle this matter and move forward with the compelling growth opportunities we've got in Macau''.

Previously Australian regulators required James Packer and Crown Casinos to determine a distance between their partner, Lawrence Ho, and his father Stanley, with the intention to receive approval of the company's Macau gambling ventures.

As Alabama Gaming Fight Goes On, Operator Eyes The big apple

Published on January 28, 2014 by April Gardner

Gaming operators within the state of Alabama was in a relentless battle with lawmakers over the legality of electronic gaming machines. The Attorney general has made it clear that he believes the machines are illegal, while gaming hall owners maintain that their operations are throughout the law.

While the controversy has again heated up in Alabama, one operator is setting their sights on a bigger market, Ny. Greenetrack, which operates a casino in Greene County, stated this week that they want to open a casino within the Catskills.

"We expect that our bid could be seriously considered should we elect to use for the gaming license." said Greenetrack, in a press release to The Post. "Accordingly, Greenetrack is building a team to explore this possibility in addition to to address community outreach around the state and to coach New Yorkers on Greenetrack's accomplished casino gaming operation."

Greenetrack was among the many Alabama locations that was raided by cops back in 2011. Nearly 400 machines were seized in the course of the operation, with the Attorney general citing Alabama law prohibiting slot machines as a cause of the raids.

Several of the gaming establishments, including Greenetrack, re-opened after the raids. The owners of Greenetrack claim that Green County voters approved the electronic gaming machines back in 2003. The Supreme Court has made a few individual case rulings at the machines, but nothing that might give a definitive answer as to if or not the machines are legal under state law.

The Alabama gaming industry made national headlines when Milton McGregor and Ronnie Gilley, developers of VictoryLand and Country Crossings casinos, respectively, were arrested on charges of bribing state Senators. Gilley pleaded guilty, while McGregor beat his case in court. Over a dozen lobbyists and senators were also charged within the case.

It have been reported that Greenetrack has ties to the Reverend Al Sharpton, but Sharpton has denied having any knowledge of Greenetrack's open a casino within the Catskills.

With casinos struggling, some advocate sports gambling

casino 3CNBC – As another casino in Atlantic City, N.J., plans to near its doors, some believe allowing sports betting could help invigorate a struggling industry.

Most states don’t allow wagers on sporting events, way to a federal ban. In Nevada, where sports gambling is legal, it accounts for $4.25 million of the $11.2 billion in statewide gaming revenues.

“Sports betting unregulated is a debacle. It’s horrible as it puts money into the incorrect people’s hands,” said Bill Pascrell III of Princeton Public Affairs Group.

“Why should Nevada and Delaware have a monopoly? … It’s a state’s rights issue,” he said in an interview with CNBC’s “Power Lunch.”

The NFL has fought attempts to permit gambling on its games, arguing that it might put an excessive amount of pressure on officials to get calls right and that too many of us desirous about sports betting may cause legal problems, said Scott Spreitzer, sports betting analyst at Pregame.com and a radio host at ESPN.
