French Online Poker Players Have Tea Party Protests

New French gambling taxes have online poker players staging protests very similar to the Tea Party grassroots movement within the US.

Cherry Red Casino! New regulations imposed by the French government in opening the country's online poker market include a vital tax. Some Internet poker sites are crying poverty and passing the price to players, resulting in organized protests along the lines of the Tea Party gatherings within the US.

France will collect a 2 percent tax on cash games, tournaments, and re-buys. Even hands that feature folding throughout to the large blind can be taxed, meaning in those cases the unlucky player within the big blind seat wins the hand and doesn't even collect a whole small blind for his effort.

Operators similar to PokerStars are passing the tax along as an additional 2 percent rake. Spokesman for online poker sites say the additional rake is necessary, claiming the sites are losing money on a gentle basis under the brand new French gambling rules.

But players don't seem to be quietly cooperating. Instead, semi-organized sit-ins are occurring, during which players check in to PokerStars and other online poker sites after which occupy seats while sitting out hands.

Blocking the seats at cash game tables is costing the poker operators hefty income. Players say the sites brought it on themselves, because the additional rake can mean players see their collection of hands available for a given buy-in drop by up to 1 / 4 of the total.

A report by eGaming notes that Sweden actually followed a plan lowering rake to drive tax collections. The resulting increase in players greater than made up for the lesser take per hand. There is not any word yet, however, that French officials might even see the sunshine and help online poker sites escape from between a rock and a difficult place.

PCA 2014: Brazil and Argentina out as Chile crush Americas Cup on Day 1

They came in with high hopes. They'll leave with a guaranteed $5,000. Nevertheless it might have been such a lot more.

Brazil and Argentina are out of this year's Americas Cup of Poker, despite the most productive efforts in their respective team captains, Andre Akkari and Nacho Barbero. The quick format and Sit & Go structure meant that labelling anyone as "favorites" going into today would was a foolish gesture, but even so, with two LAPT final tablists in Ivan Raich and Javier Gordo, many had singled out Argentina as this year's team to overcome -- including Barbero.

But all isn't lost. They'll go into tomorrow's fifth place play-off with Team Brazil hoping to fasten up an additional $2,500 in prize money.

One team with loftier ambitions tomorrow could be that of Chile, who with a bit help from one of the crucial event's three female players, placed on the day's strongest showing to edge out Peru by a single point on the summit.

The win means Chile will go into tomorrow's decisive heads-up battles as top seed, where they'll play fourth placed Colombia. That leaves Mexico (third) to scrap it out with Peru (second) within the day's other match-up.

Each team will play five heads-up matches against the opposite. The primary to win three will advance to the semi-finals, after which final, where the juicy $32,500 first prize may be dished out. Until then, see below for the entire pay out structure and more photos from a loud day within the the Bahamas.

EPT Deauville schedule announced

After January within the Bahamas there's always the risk of feeling slightly too relaxed. One minute you're operating on Island time, wearing a Tommy Bahamas shirt, a couple of sandals and drinking pink drinks. The following you are still within the shirt in a baggage queue, and still squinting in what's the now imaginary sunshine. It isn't good.

What you wish to have is to be jolted back into the true world. We aren't talking a few steady re-entry, but a short, sharp shock, like tearing off a Band Aid, starting with some kind of treatment involving a blast of invigorating cold air each morning.

Well, you will be happy to listen to that PokerStars offers this comprehensive service. It's called "EPT Deauville".

That's right. It is the best cure for a winter of light and sand, turning it right into a distant memory as you travel to the windswept shores of Deauville in Normandy, which again hosts the EPT Festival starting in January.

deauville casino 20nov14.jpgDeauville Casino looking pretty spectacular

Actually, let's be clear on a couple of things.

It's fair to mention that Deauville, which appears at the EPT for a 10th time in 2015, could be a little colder than Paradise Island in January. But frankly that has yet to take anything clear of the advantages of playing what's typically some of the biggest and best tournaments staged in France per annum. This season, we will assure you with the intention to be no different.

The reasons? Well there are the standard EPT benefits comparable to a perfect structures and prize pools, with 45 events at the schedule. But it is usually concerning the surroundings. In Deauville, you're never greater than about 100 yards from the beach, a plate of significant food, or a bottle of excellent wine. What's more all of it occurs in a picturesque coastal setting, and in Casino Barriere Deauville, probably the most more opulent tournaments destinations in Europe.

As well because the €5,300 Main Event (which last years was worth €614,000 to winner Sotorious Koutoupas ), there'll be a €10,600 High Roller. There'll even be the typically grand prelude to the Festival within the shape of the general France Poker Series Main Event of Season 4 with a €500,000 guarantee, in addition to a High Roller. It goes without saying that a raft of side events, including the €330 Deauville Cup, may also be at the schedule. The festival can even conclude the fourth season's Player of the Season competition.

sotirios koutoupas ept 20nov14.jpgLast season's winner Sotirious Koutoupas with winter scarf for the cold

What's more, we realise that in comparison to other EPT festivals Deauville is, lets say, somewhat more out of reach. So that you can make your journey to and from Deauville as easy as possible we'll be laying on shuttles to and from the airports, more details of which are found at EPT Travel.

ept deauville beach 20nov14.jpgSure, the PCA has a beach, but so does Deauville!

So there you have got it. The antidote to post-Bahamian blues, complete with enormous prize pools, great structures, and wonderful scenery. Find the entire details you will want at the EPT website, with satellites listed within the tournament lobby.

We'll see you at the beach! (Leave the sandals, bring a hat and scarf)

Americas Cup moving toward the slopes

acop-thumb.jpgWith greater than 35,000 entries into the PokerStars Americas Cup of Poker, the pre-event favorites have pulled out to a commanding lead.

As you've likely heard, the Americas Cup is pitting people from in all places North and South America against one another in a battle for bragging rights and massive money on the end of the arena. At stake, a possibility on the live final within the Patagonia region of Argentina and a heck of a ski trip in September.

After one round of play, several of the divisions have seen serious blow outs. In Group A, the us and Mexico have crushed Equador and preliminary qualifier Guatemala 8-0 in early action. Canada and Colombia have done the similar thing to Uruguay and Panama in Group B. In Group D, Argentina (host of the live final) and Brazil skunked Paraguay and Honduras.

It's only in Group C where things have stayed exceptionally tight. All four countries are still well nearby of creating live final. As of right now, here's how the teams win/loss records look.

Costa Rica (6 - 2)Chile (4 - 4)Venezuela (4 - 4)Peru (2 - 6)

The top two teams in each group might be headed to the live final. This week, PokerStars announced that each one teams that finish in third place gets an opportunity to play for the $10,000 ninth place playoff. That suggests that even those teams that did not fare well within the early going still have a reason to fight.

EPT10 Barcelona: The mighty fall because the ESPT monster plays on

The ESPT Main Event broke records here in Barcelona becoming the last ever 1k event to has been played outside of Las Vegas. It was also, in the case of bums on seats, the biggest tournament that PokerStars has ever held live. AN INCREDIBLE 1,798 players entered bought, satellited or scrapped their way into the 2 Day 1As making a prize pool of just about $1.75m and putting up a $298,000 payout for the winner. That's an astounding amount of money, even in poker terms.

espt main event 4 barcelona.jpg

It was searching for a while today that a few names more used to the EPT stage would make the overall table, which plays out tomorrow. Russian Dmitry Vitkind, a last tablist at EPT Tallinn, Friend of PokerStars Charlotte van Brabander was so with reference to a large score, and Jason Lavallee, runner-up to Ludovic Lacay at EPT Sanremo last season, was also denied another shot at a six-figure score. But such is the way in which of poker. Prestige and publicity count for nothing (beyond, of course, sponsorship deals but that's another matter). Van Brabander was toppled in 44th (€4,780), Vitkind was vanquished in 34th (€5,755) and Lavallee left the building in 25th (€7,900). Even Italian Poker Tour Player of the Year Mustapha Kanit couldn't hold on and bust out in 14th (€14,790).

Rozvodov welcomes the PokerStars King's Cup

More tournaments and more innovation, particularly for those players who love to stay awake late after they play poker.

It all is available in the shape of the King's Cup, a brand new additional to the 2014 calendar, to be staged on the King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Rozvadov is hardly a brand new stop for poker players, given its pedigree as a well-liked spot at the Eureka Poker Tour. The King's Cup however is a standalone event, happening between 6 and 9 November, with the highlight being a €500+€50 by-in Main Event with a €200,000 guarantee.

kings cup sept14.jpg

If that does not pull people during the door then there are a couple of other curiosities to maintain you interested.

For the primary time in PokerStars history the festival will feature a turbo starting day for the principle Event -- with the similar structure and starting stack, but with shorter levels, permitting players who register on the last minute, in addition to people with short attention spans, to enroll in within the fun.

But festivals like this don't seem to be all concerning the main event. QUITE A LOT OF side events will keep players busy across the clock. And subsequently we mean that quite literally.

In another first the King's Cup festival will include numerous events that begin at midnight, open to any player who has the buy-in, and who has not by then become a pumpkin.

Those events include a €150+€15 Midnight Turbo on Thursday 6 November -- starting at exactly 00:00 - and a Midnight Bounty event on Saturday 8 November. Let's accept it, for many poker players that's late afternoon.

In addition to all of this there'll even be room for a Eureka pot-limit Omaha Champion with a unique two day event set to happen as a part of the festival, starting on November 8. There'll even be satellites for the Eureka Season 4 main event in Prague, which occurs within the Czech capital sooner than the EPTs arrival on the town.

For more details at the King's Cup, and everything happening through the festival in Rozvodov, take a look at the the Facebook page.

WCP VIII: Day 1 ends hopes of Italian double, resurgent Germany top

PCA-2010-thumbnail.jpg

Who would have thought it? Reigning champions Italy out with barely a whimper. After round one and two performances that left them languishing in ninth position at the leader board, Italy limped out in their title defence with a ninth-place exit within the multi-table madness of round three. An ignominious end to a disappointing day for Captain Luca Pagano, an experience somewhat different from last year's finale.

Italy were first to leave (5 points) they usually were followed by Team Remainder of the sector (10) and Costa Rica (15) before an excellent one-man survival show from Anthony Monestes booked France 20 points for a sixth place finish. That left five nations with Japanese captain Masaaki Kagawa the player shoving but after an outstanding day they fell in fifth (25) leaving Peru to grind on before falling in fourth (30).

Tajikistan were the following to head (35) losing a flip to Germany putting in a Dutch-German heads up. The captains battled for a little while before Klaus Hornchurch despatched Johan van Til to take the entire 50 points completing an epic comeback for Germany who had finished the primary round in last place. They now lead Japan by one point.

1. Germany, 105 points
2. Japan, 104 points
3. Peru, 98 points
4. Netherlands, 97 points
5. Tajikistan, 92 points
6. France, 86 points
7. Remainder of the World, 74 points
8. Costa Rica, 73 points

New Jersey Asserting States' Rights in Online Casino Discussion

New Jersey is steaming ahead on its plans to license online casinos, irrespective of if or when federal action takes place.

Play Now at Slots Plus Casino! While the government struggles to seek out the desire to inspect any of several bills suggesting the regulation of Internet gambling, New Jersey is thinking about all possible options to go back the state to gaming prominence, including allowing online casinos. Internet casino operators say Atlantic City can be among their most preferred US destinations in the event that they could legally base there.

State Senator Ray Lesniak has included provisions for online gambling in his bill looking to permit sports betting in New Jersey. Under the terms of the measure, casinos granted licenses in New Jersey can be capable of run online casinos servicing New Jersey residents.

According to a report by Atlantic City Weekly, online gaming officials at a public hearing at the Lesniak act said they'd prefer a base like Atlantic City, because the stringent regulatory environment would help communicate the security of online wagering to the public.

“The thrust of the bill is to unite the brick and mortar existing licensees with online gaming interests; to sign up for them together to allow them to complement each other," said a brand new Jersey lobbyist at this week's Global iGaming Convention to the Casino City Times. “We're going to be the primary state within the nation to have this bill passed. I'm confident in that.”

“The leading opposition to these bills in New Jersey is Harrah's," says iMEGA Chairman Joe Brennan, Jr. "Harrah's has said that they like a federal solution they usually have gone all in at the federal solution. Wel,l we at iMEGA believe that we will be able to walk and chew gum on the same time.

Harrah's Casinos Featuring New Private Offering

Harrah's Entertainment, the operator of casinos and gambling venues across the world, is putting forth a brand new private offering which the corporate hopes will cover a payment on a maturing loan due just over a year away.

Haarah's Entertainment, the world's largest casino operator, is extending a personal offering that the corporate hopes generates it $720 million to repay debt that may be soon to mature. The brand new loans wouldn't be due until 2017.

Earlier this year, Harrah's exchanged $5.4 billion in maturing debt for $3.6 billion in notes not due until 2018, after making concessions on rates and upfront payment to lenders.

Harrah's took itself private only months before the onset of the recession. The switch off the general public market meant the absorption of an excessive amount of debt, only to seek out gambling revenues rapidly decreasing.

Many other gambling operators was pushed to or over the threshold of bankruptcy. MGM Mirage and Las Vegas Sands had investors wondering if either or both will not be capable of survive this past spring, and Trump Entertainment and Station Casinos begin the lengthy list of gaming bankruptcies.

Joey "jcl87" Lawrence Wins 10th Anniversary $10K High Roller, $402K

10th-ann-thumb.JPGHelping to position a large exclamation point at the 10th Anniversary festivities here at PokerStars, a distinct $10,300 High Roller tourney was added to the schedule on Sunday, and as expected the development drew lots of online poker's biggest names. Combine that onerous field with deep starting stacks (10,000 chips) and 30-minute levels and the tourney was sure to present a real challenge to players' skills.

At least 50 needed to enter to check the event's $500,000 guarantee, but greater than an hour before it all started twice that had already signed up. By the point the primary hands were dealt there have been 150 seated, including greater than a dozen Team PokerStars Pros and Team Online members.

When registration ended two hours in, a last total of 187 had joined the fray. That added as much as $1.87 million for a prize pool -- way, far more than that $500K guarantee -- to be divided a few of the top 27 finishers. Six-figure paydays awaited the highest five finishers, with $402,050 of that going to the winner (barring any final table deals).

It took about three hours for the sector to be trimmed to 140, with Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu (147th) and Jude "j.thaddeus" Ainsworth (143rd) a number of the recent eliminations. At that point, bidernutnut led the way, having built a stack of nearly 45,000, with b8chatz and shaman627 the one other players with greater than 30,000.

Ninety minutes later there have been 100 left, with Humberto Brenes (127th) and Ville Vahlbeck (120th) having joined the crowd at the rail. shuriken555 led with over 74,000, with Steve "gboro780" Gross next with just below 52,000 and bearsfan775, Adam "squee451" Sherman, bindernutnut, and b8chatz not far behind.

As the sector was whittled in half to simply 50, more Team PokerStars Pros joined the fallen, including Andre Akkari (88th), Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (87th), and Pat Pezzin (85th). Also gone were Team Online members Randy "nanonoko" Lew (81st) and Javier "El CaƱonero" Dominguez (58th), Pierre "Zoutechamp" Neuville (57th) of Team PokerStars Belgium, Mickey "mement mori" Petersen of Team Online (54th), and Max Lykov of Team PokerStars Russia (52nd).

The tourney have been going near to seven hours, with L0ve2playU sitting with probably the most chips of the general 50 with just a little over 100,000, with Dan "djk123" Kelly, Schildy1984, lb6121, and Rachid "SkaiWalkurrr" Ben Cherif rounding out the highest five. Meanwhile, Team PokerStars had but two representatives left, Eugene Katchalov and Jonathan Duhamel, both hovering with below-average stacks just within the top 30.

Katchalov was a number of the next wave of eliminations, however, going out in 43rd just after other familiar names like Athanasios "Athanasios 9" Polychronopoulos (49th), Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser (47th), and Steve "gboro780" Gross (46th).

Meanwhile Duhamel scored a double-up when his A♥K♣ held against Ashley "DYBYDX" Mason's A♣Q♠ to push the 2010 WSOP Main Event champ back above average. Mason was looking to replicate his success within the $10K High Roller event from the 2011 SCOOP last September when he bested a field of 200 to take the bracelet and $430,000 payday.

As they crossed the nine-hour mark, 28 remained, with Toby "810ofclubs" Lewis (39th), Timothy "Tim0thee" Adams (37th), bindernutnut (36th), Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko (34th), Rachid "SkaiWalkurrr" Ben Cherif (32nd), and Dan "Danny98765" Smith (30th) some of the latest to be eliminated.

On the bubble with the blinds 600/1,200, Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver opened for 2,520 from UTG and Adam "squee451" Sherman reraised all in for 7,621 from a few seats over. It folded back to Oliver who called, turning over 7♠7♦ to Sherman's A♣A♦.

The flop came 5♠A♠3♠, giving Sherman a collection of aces but in addition giving Oliver a flush draw. The 2♠ then landed at the turn, completing ImDaNuts' flush, and after the 6♣ river Sherman were ousted in 28th.

"awesommmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeee" typed a sarcastic squee451 because the hand completed.

With 27 left, Dan "djk123" Kelly held the lead with about 275,000, just over 100,000 better than Jamie "pokerjamers" Armstrong in second. ImDaNuts, Ashley "DYBYDX" Mason, and aaabbbccc rounded out the highest five, with Duhamel still there in 10th.

Over the following hour-and-a-half the sector was reduced to 18, with all the nine players eliminated earning $18,700: William "Altrum Altus" Reynolds (27th), bearsfan775 (26th), Renato "leguito" Almeida (25th), asadi (24th), Mike "Timex" McDonald (23rd), Joao "joaobarb" Barbosa (22nd), L0ve2playU (21st), Liutauras "liutas.a" Armanavicius (20th), and FisFarfar (19th).

Dan "djk123" Kelly still led with 318,583, well sooner than second-place Andrey "Chaaai" Saenko with 174,127. Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen was third with 167,598, while Duhamel was near the ground of the counts with about 35,000.

Duhamel lasted in the course of the next three eliminations -- Banderivets (18th), lb6121 (17th), and b8chatz (16th) -- each of whom earned $23,275. Then with the blinds 1,000/2,000, Duhamel open-pushed his remaining 22,774 from early position with K♥3♦ and got one caller in Chaaai who held T♥T♦. The board came Q♦3♣A♦5♠4♠, and Duhamel was out in 15th, good for $28,050.

10thanniv-highroller-18dec11-duhamel.jpg

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel

It would take some time for the following five eliminations to occur: Alexander "Schildy1984" Debus (14th, $28,050), Russell "rdcrsn" Carson (13th, $28,050), aaabbbccc (12th, $32,725), kriga (11th, $32,725), and Jamie "pokerjamers" Armstrong ($32,725). Because the clock tripped past 3:00 a.m. ET -- about 11-and-a-half hours after the tournament began -- the overall table began.

10thanniv-highroller-18dec11-ft.jpg

Seat 1: montecarlo13 -- 102,452Seat 2: DYBYDX -- 354,084Seat 3: Chaaai -- 274,124 Seat 4: jcl87 -- 329,477Seat 5: ImDaNuts -- 182,853 Seat 6: djk123 -- 108,053 Seat 7: Stammdogg -- 187,048 Seat 8: gray31 -- 278,532 Seat 9: Greenstone25 -- 53,377

With the blinds 1,500/3,000 (Level 21), almost everyone still had healthy stacks with which to compete with the leader Ashley "DYBYDX" Mason except Greenstone25, and it will only take a half-dozen hands for Greenstone25 to get those chips within the middle.

Following a gap raise to 6,600 from UTG by Joey "jcl87" Lawrence, it folded around to Greenstone25 who pushed all in for 54,502 from the cutoff. The others got out, and jcl87 quickly called, turning over A♣K♣ to Greenstone25's J♥J♦. The board came 3♥A♦T♣6♠A♠, giving Lawrence trip aces and sending Greenstone25 out in ninth.

Not long after that hand Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen would essentially switch stacks with DYBYDX to snatch the lead when Stammen's K♠K♦ held versus DYBYDX's J♦J♣.

A twinkling of an eye later the blinds were still 1,500/3,000 when Dan "djk123" Kelly raised to 6,000 from the hijack seat, then Grayson "gray31" Ramage reraised to 15,678 from the button. The blinds folded, then Kelly made it 28,662 to move. Ramage responded by reraising again, this time to 49,876, and Kelly shoved all in excessive for 170,008 total. Ramage made the call, showing A♦Q♠ to Kelly's J♠J♦.

The flop paired Ramage, coming Q♣3♠T♠. The turn was the 8♠ and river the 3♦, and djk123 was eliminated in eighth.

Seven hands later they'd just moved to Level 22 (500/2,000/4,000) when Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver raised to 8,385 from middle position and it folded around to montecarlo13 who reraised to 24,000 from the small blind. DYBYDX folded the BB, then Oliver pushed all in and montecarlo13 called with the 51,371 he had left.

ImDaNuts had T♦T♣ and hoped that pair would hold versus montecarlo13's A♠K♣. The five community cards came eight-high -- 4♦8♦5♣4♠2♥ -- meaning Oliver's tens were best and montecarlo13 was out in seventh.

A short time later there another little bit of preflop back-and-forthing ensued, this time between Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver and Joey "jcl87" Lawrence from the blinds. After it folded around to Lawrence, he raised to 10,000, then Oliver made it 18,999. jcl87 pushed it to 42,750, eliciting an all-in shove for 234,183 by ImDaNuts which jcl87 promptly called.

jcl887 had A♣K♦ and ImDaNuts 3♣3♠. The flop landed K♥5♦8♦, putting Lawrence in front with a couple of kings. The turn was the J♠ and river the 8♣, and so they were quickly right down to five.

The remaining players took the 12-and-a-half-hour break, then soon once they returned came another elimination.

It was Level 23 (625/2,500/5,000). Andrey "Chaaai" Saenko raised to 10,000 from UTG, Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen called from the button, and Grayson "gray31" Ramage called in addition from the small blind. The flop came 7♣9♥K♣. Ramage checked, Saenko bet 19,625, then Stammen raised to 49,775. gray31 folded, Chaaai reraised to 82,500, Stammdogg pushed all in, and Chaaai called with the 137,244 he had left.

Saenko showed A♦A♣, but Stammen had flopped a collection of nines along with his 9♦9♠. The turn was the 5♠ and river the 6♠, and Saenko was out in fifth.

With four players remaining, jcl87 led with just over 751,000, Stammdogg had pushed into second with about 660,000, gray31 was third with just over 301,000, and DYBYDX was last with almost 157,000.

Mason chipped as much as move out of last and take a slight lead over Ramage, then the pair had an all-in preflop confrontation by which Mason had K♠7♦ and Ramage A♥Q♥. The flop brought a seven, however the turn was a queen, and gray31's handheld up, pushing him up over 500,000 and sending DYBYDX right down to just 17,188.

Just a couple of hands later, DYBYDX would reraise all in from the large blind over a button raise by Stammen, sticking his last 15,938 within the middle with A♥4♠ and Stammdogg called with A♣T♥. Again the flop was good for Mason -- coming 7♥4♣J♣. And the 9♠ turn was okay, too. However the T♠ river gave Stammen the simpler pair and sent DYBYDX to the rail in fourth. Still, it was another nice six-figure payday for Mason following his WCOOP High Roller win last fall.

At that time the remainder trio had a temporary conversation between hands in regards to the issue of deal-making.

They continued for an additional half-hour, wherein time Stammdogg saw his stack slip down under 250,000 while jcl87 and gray31 both hovered around 800,000-820,000.

Then, with the blinds 3,000/6,000 (Level 24), Stammen opened with a raise to 14,225 from the button and jcl87 called from the large blind. The flop came 9♠8♦8♠. Joey "jcl87" Lawrence checked, Stammdogg bet 16,225, then Lawrence check-raised to 38,765. Stammen pushed all in for 220,839 total, and jcl87 called.

Stammen had Q♣Q♦ for queens and eights while Lawrence had A♠T♠ for a flush draw. The turn was the 6♣ and Stammen was still best, however the 7♠ fell at the river, giving Lawrence the flush and sending Stammen out in third.

jcl87 had 1,060,210 to gray31's 809,790 to start out heads-up play. Both immediately agreed to revisit the speculation of perhaps chopping the remainder prize pool, and so they called to have the tournament paused. They played one hand -- a raise-and-take-it by Ramage -- and had begun the second one of heads-up when the signal came that the tourney could be paused upon the completion in their hand.

The way things turned out, there wouldn't be a necessity for a deal after all.

They had just begun Level 25 (875/3,500/7,000), and Lawrence began with a min-raise to 14,000 from the button. Ramage made it 39,876 and Lawrence called the reraise.

The flop came all spades -- 4♠9♠8♠ -- and without waiting too long gray31 bet 38,765. jcl87 paused for a while, then raised to 100,500. Ramage took even longer to respond, then finally reraised back to 234,567. jcl87 hesitated, too, then pushed all in and Ramage called together with his remaining chips.

Lawrence had flopped a flush with K♠7♠, but needed to fade another spade as Ramage turned over A♠K♥. The turn was the J♣ and river the A♥, and before any deal discussion could happen the tourney have been decided. Two spade flushes in three hands equaled two knockouts and a High Roller win for Lawrence!
