Seat 5: ComptonMasta (43,033,754 in chips)
Seat 6: Radrigues (26,837,509 in chips)

Blinds: 500k/1m with 100k ante

Radrigues trips right into a boat, eliminated in 6th

With all six players sporting healthy stacks, play on the final table was measured and careful. The table played for greater than HALF-HOUR before they prepare a large hand to get numerous chips within the middle.

Radrigues and DelokPOK were at the down side of that hand and both held not up to one big blind. Radrigues was the primary to take a shot and called all-in under the gun with 121sashka@ and henkk234 calling behind before ComptonMasta isolated with a shove from the massive unaware of get heads up.

Radrigues: A♣Q♣J♠8♥
ComptonMasta: A♠Q♦T♠2♦

Radrigues found an even hand to compliment and hit the Q♥T♥6♠ though ComptonMasta was better. The Q♠ gave ComptonMasta an entire house leaving Radrigues on the lookout for the 3 Jacks left within the deck. The 2♣ river was a miss and Radrigues was the primary eliminated on the final table in 6th place for $1,112.

DelokPOK hits straight, eliminated in 5th

It took exaclty yet one more hand before the following player was all-in the chance of hitting the rail. DelokPOK called all-in with lower than the large blind with ComptonMasta and 121sashka@ coming along to the 9♣5♥2♦ flop. ComptonMasta bet after the flop with J♦T♦9♦2♣ and was against A♦6♦5♦4♥ for middle pair.

DelokPOK hit the gutshot at the 3♥ for the 6-high straight and was looking good for the double up until ComptonMasta spiked the 2♠ at the river to hit the boat. DelokPOK came one card from a double up but was knocked out in 5th place for $2,103.

henkk234 takes a shot, eliminated in 4th

The final table went HALF-HOUR without an elimination after which the table had three knockouts within four hands. henkk234 was the following in trouble after ComptonMasta opened for a min-raise under the gun and henkk234 responded with a shove from the massive blind for just over 25M.

ComptonMasta was slightly ahead with K♦K♣Q♠6♥ against A♣J♦T♣2♠ and the J♠5♦5♣ increased the lead. The T♠ turn gave henkk234 a smaller two pair and was left with just four outs to the river. The 3♦ was not the magic card and henkk234 was the following player out in 4th for $3,523.

121sashka@ runs into Aces, eliminated in 3rd

121sashka@ was getting blinded down during three-handed play and located an even hand to shake a shot at doubling up. ComptonMasta kicked off the action with a min-raise from the button and 121sashka@ moved all-in for a bit over 38M with K♥K♦Q♠9♠.

Nels316 responded by moving all-in excessive and ComptonMasta folded and showed A♠K♣J♠4♣. Nels316 tabled A♣A♥6♠3♠ leaving 121sashka@ needing help to stick alive. The T♦7♠4♥ changed little within the hand however the Q♣ added a couple of outs for the save. The blank 6♦ river left 121sashka@ with the second one best hand to be knocked out of the tournament in 3rd place for $5,739.

Nels316 stays strong to capture crown in Event #77

Nels316 (105,873,748 in chips)
ComptonMasta (83,297,252 in chips)

Heads up play began with Nels316 ahead but not before the 2 of them negotiated a deal to cut up the last two payout spots. They battled it out without the chiplead making much movement until they both shot for the title.

ComptonMasta shoved from the button for slightly below 62M with K♠J♠5♣5♦ for a small pair and large suited cards. Nels316 made the simple call with Q♥Q♠8♠6♠ for the larger pair and removing three flush outs. The 9♣3♣2♥ flop did nothing to enhance ComptonMasta's situation and the 8♥ turn left him with five outs to stay around.

The tournament ended with the 4♥ river sending the pot to Nels316 with the unimproved Queens. ComptonMasta did a large number of work on the final table but needed to accept runner-up status and $9,246 while Nels316 was the following MicroMillions champion and the $10,046 that went together with the title.

Politics and Zealotry Loom Ahead for Internet Casino Bill

Despite the keenness expressed for the introduction of Barney Frank's Internet casino bill, such unprincipled speakers as Spencer Bachus are desperate to spread lies about online gambling to defeat the bill.

Nobody within the Internet casino industry is surprised the familiar foes of regulated online gambling are marshaling their forces to withstand the passage of Barney Frank's new bill. While some celebrated prematurely, in what iMEGA chairman Joe Brennan, Jr., called a display of "completely unqualified enthusiasm," others knew the toughest parts are ahead.

Once again, Spencer Bachus is quick to utter absurdities into whatever microphones come near him, apparently figuring it doesn't must be the reality when you say it often enough.

“Illegal offshore Internet gambling sites are a criminal enterprise," says Bachus in a tautology. He neglects to notice in the event that they are legalized, they will, of course, not be criminal enterprises.

Bachus also states that "...allowing them (online casinos) to function unfettered within the United states of america would present a transparent danger to our youth, who're subject to becoming hooked on gambling at an early age.”

Gaming experts note that Bachus' claims of addiction belie most present evidence, but his rhetoric reflects strongly-held convictions of the social conservatives that form his base.

"In certain circles, what Bachus parrots is thought of as to be proved beyond question, without ever an objective consideration," says sociologist Gerald Holdenstein.

When told that concerns about problem gambling and child participation could be addressed by modern developments in software, Bachus told the brand new York Times that "such safety features are inherently unreliable, may also be trivially circumvented and can fail at high rates.”

Online gambling operators point to success with such programs within the United Kingdom, but in addition realize Bachus won't believe his own words, and positively won't disavow them, as he plays a cynical political game.

"At least he's now not telling everyone one-third people teenagers who gamble attempt suicide anymore," said one casino owner, speaking of a disproved wild claim Bachus made to rally troops against Frank's last gaming bill.

With Two Weeks Left, MLB Betting Futures At the Line

Published on September 17, 2013 by Vincent Tapoglia III

Every January and February, gamblers make their way through Las Vegas to find the sports books and make future bets at the Major League Baseball season. For bettors that made that trek this year, there's much money at the line because the season enters its final two weeks.

Hundreds of betting propositions were offered by Las Vegas sports books before the season began, and most revolved around team wins for the season, and which teams would win divisions, pennants, and the sector Series. A PAIR dozen teams has been eliminated from the playoffs, and with those bets off the table, the point of interest has shifted to the rest playoff hopefuls.

One of essentially the most reliable bets a gambler can make over the last 15 years is the brand new York Yankees making the playoffs. This season, however, the Yankees are in peril of missing out at the playoffs, and if that occurs, it would have disastrous consequences for Yankee bettors. The big apple is currently 2.5 games out of the general wild card spot.

The favorites to win the divisions before the year began are just about all in position to take action. Detroit, the l. a. Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals all lead their divisional races with two weeks left. Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Oakland, and Boston have crashed the party of their respective divisions, and are in position to repay for those gamblers who took an opportunity at the underdogs.

Pittsburgh has not had a winning season since 1992. Not just are the Pirates able to break that streak, but they have got already crushed their season win total from the percentages makers. Pittsburgh has not been a sort organization to bettors that experience placed wagers at the team, however the large payout odds in this year's squad could get gamblers even.

Several teams have underperformed, causing a subject for gamblers who bet the favorites. Washington, Toronto, San Francisco, and the l. a. Angels were all favored, or chosen to complete second by odds makers. Not one of the aforementioned teams are even in playoff contention because the season involves a detailed.

Baltic Festival: Day two, levels 13-14 updates

Baltic-blog.pngThis post contains live updates from day two, levels 12 and 13 of the PokerStars Baltic Festival in Tallinn.

At the level's start, 85 players remained from a starting field of 307. The entire chip counts at first of the extent can be found at the chip counts page. Approximate counts will appear here updated within the level. AN ENTIRE breakdown of the prize structure is at the prize structure page.

Blinds:Level 13: 1,200-2,400 (300 ante)Level 14: 1,500-3,000 (300 ante).

7.25pm: A breatherPlayers at the moment are on a fifteen minute break and in order to let us get an entire run down of the chip counts after a breathless bubble-some level.

7.20pm: Heinanen, the nice survivorPetri Heinanen, who survived a few all ins around bubble time, has just done it again. This time he shoved over Matias Knaapinen's button raise and Knaapinen called. They showed:

Heinanen: Q♥T♠Knaapinen: K♣J♠

And when the board ran out T♥3♦9♦A♥5♥ that ten at the flop took it down for Heinanen.

7.15pm: Brit on Brit action accounts for PritchardThomas Partridge and Joe Pritchard got all of it in pre-flop. Partridge had J♦J♣ and Pritchard A♥9♥, meaning Partridge was already ahead. Although Pritchard picked up quite a few outs at the flop of 8♥4♥8♣, the turn 8♦ and river 9♣ didn't help. Pritchard becomes our 31st placed finisher.

7pm: Double up for Ellis, plus chip leader actionClaus Bek Nielsen opened to 8,000 and Natasha Ellis moved her short stack of 25,000 all in. Nielsen eventually made the decision and showed K♠J♠, which was almost kind of like Ellis's K♦J♦. But that virtually"" played: the flop had two diamonds on it, and there has been another at the river, giving the flush, and the 55,000 pot to Ellis.

Meanwhile, these two Brits are the probably chip leaders at this stage:Thomas Patridge: 240,000James Keys: 380,000

All stacks are approximate. On the end of this level we'll do an entire count and we'll know precisely where we're at.

6.50pm: A profit three continents for EllisAs an on-off PokerStars qualifier, Natasha Ellis has travelled a ways around the world, doping up at the LAPT, the APPT and now the Baltic Poker Festival. She has now cashed in her third continent as a PokerStars qualifier and remains to be going strong.

Another player who has earned quite enough congratulations, but deserves the entire plaudits he gets, is the reigning World Champion Peter Eastgate. He has also made the money here, something he seems to do for fun. Again he's the last remaining Team PokerStars Pro to boot.

6.45pm: Bubble dramaThe bubble has burst, and it is the Austrian player Christian Schneider who departs in 33rd, the unluckiest spot within the Baltics. It was a battle of the blinds when it happened, with two of the large stacks going at it. Michael Fardan raised with A♦Q♣ within the small blind, Schneider found kings within the big blind, they usually got all of it within the. flop was alright for the kings: 7♣7♥9♣ however the turn was an ace, which sent Fardan into the lead. He faded the king at the river and Schneider was gone.

festival-116.jpg

Jonathan Fardan, left, and Christian Schneider, seated

6.30pm: Closing in at the bubbleThat was the last significant action of level 13 and we're now into the following one that. is level 14, following custom. The blinds listed here are 1,500-3,000 (300 ante) and 34 players remain. It's bubble time very soon - and do not the video blog team know it:

6.25pm: Englishman No 2At the similar time that Keys was still piling up that vast stack won within the pot against Katja Thater, his countryman Thomas Partridge was all in at the table round the corner. The board was all out 9♣5♠2♦T♠7♥ and Partridge was all in. It was a tremendous pot against Patrik Kaltrud. Eventually the Norwegian player folded, giving Partridge everything within the middle. When he counted it into stacks, it was with reference to 180,000.

6.15pm: Thater unlocked by KeysIt was most certainly the most important pot of the tournament thus far and it has just accounted for the Team PokerStars Pro Katja Thater. She was on a tear today, and got beyond 110,000 at one point, that's 85,000 greater than what she started with. But after three and 4 betting pre-flop, it was kings against jacks for the cash. The British player James Keys had the jacks, and Thater had the kings. But there has been a jack at the flop and that is the reason a cruel, cruel blow for Thater. "IT HAS BEEN two years like this," she said, as she reported the main points of her own demise.

Keys is past 220,000 and is leading this thing.

6.10pm: Shoving, calling, doublingThere's already about 15,000 within the pot and a flop of A♥7♥5♣ out when Matias Knaapinen and Einar Olafsson become involved. Knaapinen checks, and Olafsson bets 6,600 but is then forced to invite for more. Knaapinen check-raises to 14,000. Olafsson answers, moving all in with a stack that covers Kaapininen. That's fine: Knaapinen calls instantly and shows 5♥5♦, well prior to Olafsson's A♣6♥. The turn and river are blank and Knaapinen's set is sweet enough to double up.

6pm: Ellis triplesNatasha Ellis was down, and now she's up again. Somehow - I DID NOT see it - she was all the way down to her last 11,200 in chips and she or he got all of them in against two players. One in all them, Ville Wallin of Finland, she had covered, another Joachim Buch, she didn't. And it was Buch within the lead after they showed their hands pre-flop:

Buch: A♣J♠Ellis: K♥9♥Wallin: Q♥5♠

The flop only favoured one in all them. It came nine high. After which Ellis managed to vanish all running cards, a jack or an ace or a queen, and all but tripled as much as around 35,000 total.

5.45pm: Brits versus Tönsberg versus Katja ThaterThere's was I getting serious about four Britons still in general Event -- James Keys, Thomas Partridge, Natasha Ellis and Joe Pritchard -- when the residents of Tönsberg, Norway, go and ruin the party. Isn't that usually the best way? Until recently, Tönsberg had three players remaining within the tournament -- Frode Langemyr, Patrik Kalterud, and Morten Ramm -- that is impressive enough, even before you learn that Tönsberg is a town of about 36,000 inhabitants.

Ramm, the comedian, has had his last laugh, though. As has, within the last five minutes, Langemyr. He ran kings into Katja Thater's aces and the Team PokerStars Pro now has greater than 120,000. Right within the mix.

5.40pm: TablesWith the principle Event now right down to five tables many of the big stacks are patently nearby each other. Kimmo Kurko is now betting immediately into Claus Bek Nielsen, for example, which cannot be fun.

5.31pm: The leaderHere's Claus Bek Nielsen today:

festival-115.jpg

And that is his closest challenger, Michael Fardan.

festival-112.jpg

5.30pm: RefreshedThey're due back from the dinner break at 5.30pm, and once they return they'll have chip stacks detailed at the chip count page. Claus Bek Nielsen is out front, but he's hotly pursued by his countryman Michael Fardan.

EPT11 Prague: Short day tomorrow? Don't expect it

As you will have probably heard by now, there's a slight variation to the planned schedule for the remainder of this European Poker Tour main event. Under normal circumstances, the EPT has a last table of eight players and the penultimate day finishes when player number nine is knocked out.

But here in Prague this week, in a bid to finish a sequence of extraordinarily long final days, the action goes to continue until the tip of level 29 -- unless we get all the way down to six players first. It implies that lets come again tomorrow and start the one final day with fewer than eight players that the EPT has ever seen.

I suspect that that will be not up to ideal for some armchair EPT fans, for whom an extended day and night watching the action progress offers a day-off-worthy distraction. However it is a blessed relief for anybody who sat within the tournament rooms of Prague in 2013, then the PCA, Monaco Grand Final and Barcelona events this year, as today ticked into tomorrow after which the sun came up.

webcast stage ept11 prague.jpg

How long do we all be watching this?

According to everybody who has watched some of them, the important thing factors in determining the length of a last table are as follows: choice of big blinds in play, standard of player and duration of the heads up passage of play. It's all but impossible to persuade the latter two factors: less experienced players often get to the overall table and will decelerate action, while additionally it is often the case that a heads-up battle can go ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong for hours and hours or end.

However that first factor can be influenced -- even without deviating from the established, pre-published structure. do it's to increase the times within the lead as much as the final, in order that the general starts in a later blind level and there are fewer big blinds in play.

Here's the normal EPT main event schedule:

Day 1: Eight 75-minute levelsDay 2: Six 75-minute levels (end level 14)Day 3: Five 90-minute levels (end level 19)Day 4: Five 90-minute levels (or right down to 16 players) (end level 24)Day 5: All the way down to a last table of eightDay 6: Final table

tournament room with tv stage prague.jpg

Our two-table arrange in Prague

I decided this afternoon to take a look back at those epic tournaments to look if there has been any particular reason they went on goodbye. I gave the impression to understand that along with the monstrous final day, those tournaments shared something else in common: an overly short Day 5. Will today's decision to play five levels regardless give us a more manageable day tomorrow?

Prague, Season 10Total players: 1,007Total chips in play: 30.21 million

End of Day 4: Level 24 (22 players; 1.37 million average; 57 BBs)End of Day 5: Level 26 (8 players; 3.78 million average; 94 BBs)Final table ended: Level 33

--

PCA, Season 10Total players: 1,031Chips in play: 30.93 million

End of Day 4: Level 24 (20 players; 1.55 million average; 64 BBs)End of Day 5: Level 26 (8 players; 3.87 million average; 96 BBs)Final table ended: Level 34

-

Grand Final, Season 10Total players: 650Chips in play: 19.5 million

Day 4 ended: Level 24 (17 players; 1.15 million average; 47 BBs)Day 5 ended: Level 27 (8 players; 2.44 million average; 49 BBs)Final table ended: Level 35

-

Barcelona, Season 11Total players: 1,496Chips in play: 44.88 million

Day 4 ended: Level 25 (25 players; 1.79 million average; 44 BBs)Day 5 ended: Level 32 (8 players; 5.61 million; 35 BBs)Final table ended: Level 41

Tomorrow's final table at EPT11 Prague will, if things visit plan for the remainder of today, start in level 30. And so, if we emulate the tournament here in Prague last year, shall we have a three-level final table.

However, just check out the Barcelona main event. That one went into level 41, which might still leave us an 11-level final table tomorrow. If memory serves, the tournament officials shortened the degrees towards the top of the day, but that also represents an absolute monster.

At the time the last hand was dealt, the blinds in Barcelona were 600,000-1,200,000, the largest they have got ever been at the tour. It meant there have been 38 big blinds in play. If the overall hand is dealt in Prague this week when there are 38 big blinds in play, we we be in level 39! Holy moly.

Full coverage of the principle event is at the main event page. Action from the high roller is at the High Roller page.

Bachus Confuses Internet Cafes With Online Gambling

The leading voice against regulated online gambling cited curious cases as reason to oppose Barney Frank's bill.

Play Now at Slots Plus Casino! During the markup to deal with Resolution 2267, the bill proposing online gambling regulation, opponent Spencer Bachus repeatedly noted a piece of writing within the Orlando Sentinel as heralding the incipient dangers of Internet gaming. Bachus said the paper bemoaned the lure Internet cafes posed to children, and argued this meant accepting online casinos means subjecting kids to risk.

Bachus repeated the citation a lot of times in the course of the process the discussion by the home Financial Services Committee, as though he had discovered a troublesome kernel of fact gaming proponents couldn't refute nor digest. However the Alabama Republican had either accidentally or deliberately muddied the water with misleading information.

Bachus said that some areas of Florida had legalized Internet gambling, that's allowed at these cafes. The facts are that the cafes shouldn't have license to function any type of gambling, but that they exist in a grey area of the law under the definition of "sweepstakes."

While the games played on the cafes are on computers, as a part of the design to squeeze into the grey area, money is handled both out and in by the shop. Therefore, failure to secure the gambling from children would fall on a land-based type of gaming, and an unregulated one in addition. If anything, Bachus' citation argues for H.R. 2267, and the desire for Internet casino regulation.

For Bachus to be a motive force behind the UIGEA online gambling ban, and yet not remember that neither has Florida passed its own Internet gambling rules nor are Internet cafes similar to online gambling, is looking for quite a suspension of disbelief. This means the committee's ranking member was purposely disingenuous for loss of any valid argument.

Clearly the opposite committee members didn't see Bachus' reasoning as persuasive, because the measure glided by a 41-22 vote, advancing to the entire House of Representatives.

Seat 9: expect more (15,340,9361 in chips)

Starting with a bang

Croatia's tomicic arrived on the final table with a stack worth just over five big blinds and got it all in play at the first actual hand, moving all-in for 16M. lahmapura of the Czech Republic, also fairly short with just 36.6M chips, went into the time bank before finally electing to name with Q♠ 7♥. THe timing couldn't was so much worse as tomicic held a dominating A♣ 7♦ and was a great favorite to double up. However the 5♥ 8♥ T♥ flop and 4♥ turn have lahmaputra a heart flush, and the 3♠ sent tomicic to the rail in 9th place ($1,237.16).

Nobody was desperate to get too involved, possibly as a result of difference of nearly $1,200 between busting out next and making it to 7th place. Because of this most hands were taken down before the flop with little resistance. Hand #10 finally saw a metamorphosis of pace as Russian player MAGA777MAGA's opening raise to 7.2M was re-raised all-in for 47.6M by itStricky from the uk. MAGA777MAGA called with A♣ 4♦ and outlasted Q♦ T♦ on a board of 7♥ 4♠ 2♦ 7♣ 6♥ to knock itStricky out in 8th place ($1,855.74).

The blinds and antes went as much as 2M/4M/400K two hands later and the pattern from the start of the general table persisted until Hand #15, when Romania's expect more flexed a bit of muscle in position to transport into the chip lead:

MAGA777MAGA made up for that loss partially at the next hand when Canada's RiKiHC moved in from early position for slightly under two big blinds, MAGA777MAGA isolated with a raise and showed A♦ T♣, while RiKiHC held Q♣ 9♣. Both players paired at the 3♠ A♣ Q♦ flop, however the 8♠ turn and 6♦ changed nothing further and RiKiHC was gone in 7th place ($3,092.90).

The Russian player struck another blow just three hands later, this one the largest of the general table thus far. The Ukraine's BUWUBALO opened the betting with an all-in bet of 45.1M, and expect more called from the small blind with 146M left behind. Then MAGA777MAGA moved all-in for 170M within the big blind, clearing expect more out of how for a heads-up pot. BUWUBALO had opened the betting with J♣ J♦ only to run into Q♣ Q♠, and with no jack at the 9♣ 4♥ 2♣ 6♦ 8♥ board the Ukrainian player was eliminated in 6th place ($5,154.83).

Mighty MAGA777MAGA

After taking the following pot for 30M with an all-in re-raise before the flop, MAGA777MAGA had a considerable lead with five players left and the blinds and antes still at 2M/4M/400K:

Seat 1: MAGA777MAGA (263,358,696 in chips)
Seat 4: lahmaputra (40,488,112 in chips)
Seat 5: Mist€r.pc (34,189,685 in chips)
Seat 6: martella31 (103,509,289 in chips)
Seat 9: expect more (146,265,218 in chips)

There was soon a burst of action that may cut into that lead. Portugal's Mist€r.pc stacked as much as 84.2M to be had #23 after moving in with K♦ Q♣ and getting MAGA777MAGA to name with K♥ J♦. lahmaputra did the similar at the next hand, with A♥ K♦ against the Russian's Q♥ T♦, for a double to 87.1M. By Hand #36 MAGA777MAGA held 187M chips and Mist€r.pc was in a great place to double throughout the Russian after an excessively friendly flop, however the turn changed everything:

That eight at the turn gave MAGA777MAGA the 215M-chip pot and sent Mist€r.pc to the rail in 5th place ($7,216.77).

That gave MAGA777MAGA a 290M-chip stack and the Russian put it to good use, leaning at the other three players over the following dozen hands and stealing enough blinds and antes to transport up over 340M. Hand #49 erased much of that progress, Holding A♦ 4♦, MAGA777MAGA opened under the gun for 125M, enough to transport anyone of the opposite players on the table all-in, and expect more called from the massive blind with J♥ J♦. The 7♦ 9♥ Q♦ kept expect more within the lead by gave MAGA777MAGA 11 good outs going to the turn. The J♣ came there and took the 3 aces within the deck away but left seven of the diamonds in play. The 2♥ at the river was safe for expect more, giving the Romanian player a lifeline with the 207M chips within the pot.

Both lahmaputra and Poland's martella31 were hanging on with stacks worth about 13 big blinds. martella31 doubled that available #57 with A♣ Q♦ against expect more's K♣ Q♥, but after a lull gave much of it back available #72:

RSS readers, please click through for replay

The battle between the 2 short stacks continued after lahmaputra doubled through MAGA777MAGA to be had #78 with A♦ 2♥ against 8♦ 6♦. They finally ended up clashing with each other to be had #83 when lahmaputra moved in for 58.6M at the button and martella31 raised to isolate, leaving 4.21M behind after expect more folded within the big blind. lahmaputra was ahead with K♠ T♣ against Q♦ J♣ and stayed there after the board came 9♥ 5♦ A♣ A♠ K♣. martella ended up all-in two hands later and mucked after expect more and lahmaputra checked down the A♥ T♣ A♦ 7♦ 8♥ board, expect more won the pot with K♣ J♣ and martella31 left the tournament in 4th place ($9,278.70).

Standoff at three

lahmaputra managed to come again within the game available #94 after flopping middle pair and outrunning MAGA777MAGA's inside straight draw. Two hands after that lahmaputra got the easier of MAGA777MAGA again after flopping an inside straight draw, calling an inexpensive bet to hit it at the turn, and getting paid at the river. That left the 3 players stacked like so:

MM6-085 ft three-handed.jpg

Seat 1: MAGA777MAGA (129,363,931 in chips)
Seat 4: lahmaputra (223,009,792 in chips)
Seat 9: expect more (235,437,277 in chips)

lahmaputra put all those chips in danger in a foul spot available #101, coming excessive of expect more's 14M bet for 185M with [A♣ Q♠ and running into A♠ K♥, however the board came 5♦ 5♥ 3♦ 3♥ 4♠ for a split pot. Ten hands later the Czech player's run would come to an end after moving all-in excessive of MAGA777MAGA's 24M-chip opener. The Russian called with A♣ K♣ and promptly caught two pair at the A♠ K♥ J♣ flop. The Q♣ turn left open the risk of splitting the pot with a ten, however the 3♦ hit the river instead and lahmaputra was out in 3rd place ($17,526.44).

Heads-up(set)

MAGA777MAGA held a pleasing advantage as heads-up play began with 4M/8M/800K blinds and antes:

MM6-085 ft hu.jpg

Seat 1: MAGA777MAGA (374,773,723 in chips)
Seat 9: expect more (213,037,277 in chips)

expect more only won one of the vital first four pots as MAGA777MAGA kept the pressure on, however the fifth was a large win way to the easiest river card:

RSS readers, please click through for replay

Now it was expect more who applied the pressure, winning seven of the following 11 pots to transport right into a lead of 68 big blinds. The 17th hand of heads-up saw both players pick up big starting hands, expect more with A♥ Q♥ and MAGA777MAGA with A♠ T♣, and the entire Russian's remaining chips went within the middle before the 4♥ 4♣ Q♠ flop. Only running tens could save MAGA777MAGA, however the 5♠ and K♠ came instead to bring the tournament to an end jsut six hours and 22 minutes after it began.

Thoguh MAGA777MAGA fell one spot wanting the victory, the $17,526.44 runner-up prize was still ten times larger than the Russian player's previous career-best cash. Champion expect more's $22,253.20 prize was also a brand new high-water mark at $7,500 greater than the former best, though that tournament's buy-in was $109 in comparison to the $2.22 minimum investment on this event. That's serious money regardless of the way you have a look at it, so congratulations to both for his or her play.

Europe Debates Legalities of Online Casino Bans

Bot indicated that blocking Internet casinos may well be acceptable provided that, among other things, the policy was set to offer protection to consumersand most people interest.

OnlineVegas.com! The European Union is having trouble getting member nations to follow a strict free trade policy relating to online gambling. When the nations formed the Union, basic policy was to permit free trade without restrictions across shared borders.

But Internet casinos became a sticking point. Some countries have state-owned monopolies, and resist incursions by privately owned gaming sites.

The European Commission has called for countries trying to restrict market access to desist and make allowance online casinos to operate, however the issue is considered delicate, and no severe penalties was levied as of yet.

Now comes a pronouncement on the European Court of Justice by Advocate General Yves Bot that online gambling bans could also be legal inside the Union, under certain circumstances.

Bot indicated that blocking Internet casinos might be acceptable provided that, among other things, the policy was set to give protection to consumers and most of the people interest. He did go directly to say national monopolies can't be protected by a ban, unless the monopoly is administered only as protection, not a revenue-producing resource.

State monopolies on gambling haven't previously involved Internet gaming, and the precedent set will weigh heavily, not just on European online casinos, but in cases just like the protectionist case the Union is pursuing against the United States.

PCA 2014 in review: Panka and Schindler freeze out McDonald and Selbst, Quoss takes another for Germany

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure proved to be another huge success in 2014, despite the most productive attempts of a freak weather system that hit the U.S. grounding flights within the lead as much as the primary Event.

Although there have been 39 events with big paydays, three big tournaments stood out and PokerStars Blog covered them all, but when you need to look who cashed for the way much in all of the other events click here.

The $10,300 PCA Main EventThe PCA Main Event pulled in 1,031s player to wreck throughout the huge $10m be sure that have been submit. That large prize pool ended up paying the highest three finishers greater than 1,000,000 bucks apiece. That trio was made of online phenom Isaac "westmenloAA" Baron, breakthrough Polish talent Dominik Panka, who went directly to take the title after a three-way chop, and EPT Dortmund champ Mike "Timex" McDonald.

Timex, who had days earlier cashed within the Super High Roller for greater than $217k with not up to one big blind, had gave the impression of he might finally break the EPT jinx: nobody had won two EPT Main Event titles in additional than 90 tournaments. It was close, nevertheless it wasn't to be. McDonald needed to accept second place, despite at one point being one card clear of victory. Panka had played fantastically, and Team PokerStars Online's Ike Haxton wasn't backward on lavishing praise on his play in the course of the PCA Live webcast. You just do not get a larger stamp of approval than that. Click here for the general tournament report.

The $25,000 High RollerIf you were ever doubtful to whether Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst is among the best players within the world, you simply want to take a look at her PCA performance this year. She cashed in all three of the blue ribbon events and almost won two of them. There's variance after which there's Selbst. The yank took third in both events, but almost took first within the $25k High Roller for the second one year at the bounce. It could was her second major title defence following back-to-back NAPT Mohegan Sun wins.

Once Selbst was out of the picture, Jake Schindler and WSOP Main Event winner Greg Merson chopped up a deal after which settled the development in true High Roller style: they shoved and called blind. You'll be able to examine that and more within the High Roller tournament wrap.

The $100,000 Super High RollerThe $100,000 Super High Roller has become the hole event of the poker calendar ever since Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov beat Daniel Negreanu heads-up on the PCA in 2011. It never fails to disappoint. AN ENCHANTING nine-handed dance happened with some incredibly shallow stacks, nevertheless it was Brit Paul Newey who finally burst a bubble worth $100,000's. It will need to have been painful, but Newey later cashed within the High Roller to get an excellent chunk of both those buy-ins back.

Fabian Quoss continued in a very good line of German dominance in big buy-in events, but he did need to crack Dan Shak's aces with king-jack offsuit for his tournament life during three-handed play.
