Baltic-blog.pngThis post contains live updates from day two, levels 15 and 16 of the PokerStars Baltic Festival in Tallinn.

At the level's start, 29 players remained from a starting field of 307. The entire chip counts at first of the extent can be found at the chip counts page. Approximate counts will appear here updated within the level. A WHOLE breakdown of the prizewinners so far and the entire payout structure is at the prize structure page.

Blinds:Level 15: 2,000-4,000 (400 ante)Level 16: 2,500-5,000 (500 ante).

9pm: Overnight chipsThe full chip count for the remainder 17 players is at the chip count page.

8.45pm: How they wentPhew. After some to-ing and fro-ing once they were right down to 19, eventually two went out on one hand. Three players were all in pre-flop, and the player with the worst hand had the largest stack. The hands were:

Kaspars Renga: A♣A♠Kimmo Kurko: Q♣Q♥Andrius Tapinas: T♦T♥

In chips, Tapinas covered Kurko who covered Renga.

Kurko decided to play his PokerStars Blog One Time Chip™ here, and who could blame him. Tapinas, however, kept his in it cellophane wrapper, and that proved to be the wisest policy. The flop came 2♦6♠T♠ and the turn 9♥ and river 4♥ helped nobody. Kurko and Renga were knocked out. Tapinas goes into tomorrow. As do we.

A full wrap will follow, however the key info is that this: there are 17 players left and James Keys of serious Britain is on the chip lead. He has 442,000, with Michael Fardan second, with 372,000.

8.40pm: Two busted, day overDetails to come.

8.25pm: EliminationsJoachim Buch was the 19th player to fall, leaving us one wanting the tip of the day. The entire list of prizewinners is at the prizewinner's page. We've recently said goodbye to:

21 - Timo Peri, Finland22 - Robert Lundh, Sweden23 - Peter Eastgate, Denmark24 - Sigurd Eskeland, Norway25 - Raigo Aasmaa, Estonia26 - Joel Sallinen, Finland27 - Heiki Laja, Estonia28 - Eduards Rakuss, Latvia

8.20pm: Another one for KeysWhen you are a dominant chip leader, you'll take a flier with pocket fives and lots of times you'll finally end up knocking someone out. So it proved when James Keys had 5♦5♣ and Joachim Buch had J♦9♠. They got all of it in pre-flop and the board ran T♥3♣6♥2♣A♠ and Buch read no more.

8.10pm: All the way down to 18No, we are not there yet. However the recently-announced tournament schedule is that we're playing all the way down to 18 players tonight and to a winner tomorrow.

8.05pm: Eastgate outThe World Champion has left the Baltics. Well, not the entire region yet, but his participation within the Baltic Festival is finished. He limped from the button, and Johan Nilsson called from the small blind, with Patrik Kaltrud checking the massive. The flop came A♠kc]3♣ and after the 2 blinds checked, Eastgate made a small bet, which only Nilsson called. The turn was 4♦ and it went check, bet, call again. And the river was 5♠, which Nilsson checked again. Eastgate pushed and Nilsson called instantly. He had A♣2♠ for the straight and Eastgate mucked. That may be that.

8pm: ChipsThose long-awaited new chip counts are in, and they are within the usual place, that is the chip count page. James Keys is far ahead, with Michael Fardan on his shoulder and Thomas Partridge not much further back.

7.50pm: Another one downThe day 1b chip leader Aleksandr Lozkin is out. He's made the money, but it is a min cash, after he moved all in for his last 40,000 or so with A♦T♣ and was in kicker trouble against Patrik Kaltrud's A♣J♠. He had a royal flush draw to cut at the flop of T♥J♥Q♥ but turn and river were dry and Lozkin departed.

7.45pm: Back! The remaining 29 players are back, down now to four tables. There is a World Champion among them, let's not forget.

Peter Eastgate

Full chip counts are on their way. Within the meantime, spend a while with Tony G, who was preparing for the High Roller event when our video blog team caught up with him.

Nevada And Delaware Reach Historic Online Gambling Agreement

The Top Online Casino Gambling News Reporting Site Since 2002!

Published on February 27, 2014 by Terry Goodwin

It was a historic day for online gambling within the US on Tuesday. Nevada and Delaware, two of the 3 states to control Internet gambling last year, have signed an agreement to permit residents of every state to play against online poker players within the other.

"This goes to switch the sport of online poker within the US and within the world," said Analyst Grant Sheridan, shortly after the Nevada-Delaware deal was announced. "To have states allowing cross-border gambling is not just historic, but a game changer."

The deal not just includes Nevada and Delaware, but deal drafters also included the likelihood that as other states begin to regulate Internet gambling, they will join the network of nationwide online sites.

"The possibilities which might be sooner than us are truly extraordinary," said Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval. "The agreement we've signed today provides the tools and the structure necessary for us to pioneer this expanding industry together, as states and partners."

Nevada was the primary state to open an internet casino late last year. Within the time since, Delaware and New Jersey have opened online poker rooms.

New Jersey's roll-out with online gambling have been below expectations, but Governor Chris Christie insisted that had more to do with lofty expectations in preference to an absence of pleasure from gamblers.

While the agreement between Delaware and Nevada lays the basis for regulatory rules among states, each state could be permitted to make sure decisions within that framework. States could be permitted to make a choice which games they provide at their online casinos, and what the stakes are at those casinos.

Tribal online poker service launches in California this week

California-PokeriGaming Business – The Santa Ysabel Tribal Development Corporation has announced that it'll launch its real-money online poker service within the US state of California next week, consistent with various reports.

Dave Vialpando, chairman of the commission, said that the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel can be “flipping the turn on for real-money sometime between [August] 26 and 28”.

The real-money service may be open to players over the age of 18 which are located within California’s borders.

The launch will come despite online poker legislation having stalled within the state.

Earlier this month, iGaming Business reported that a bill to legalise online gaming in California were withdrawn by state Senator Lou Correa, ending any hopes of securing approval this year.

However, Vialpando stressed that the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel is legally justified to provide online poker within the state.

“Our authority to supply class II gaming from our reservation isn't prohibited by any statute,” Vialpando told the Cardplayer.com website.

Professional Poker Player Archie Karas Arrested For Cheating

Published on September 28, 2013 by Tom Jones

Professional poker players are known for his or her cunning ability to acknowledge cards and play in response to their insincts. Professional poker player Archie Karas is accused of getting instincts that were a little bit too at the money.

Karas was arrested and charged with defrauding a casino in California. The cheating charges stem from Karas' allegedly marking cards at a blackjack table. The arrest is a blow to the poker playing community.

Karas had one of the crucial more successful stories in poker when he started twiddling with $50. He turned that $50 into over $35 million in lower than three years, and it became the stuff legends are product of. There were no reports that Karas cheated at the poker tables, however the arrest still deals a blow to the players' reputation.

Karas is accused of marking cards on the Barona Resort and Casino in Lakeside, California. The casino is administered by a local Indian tribe, and surveilance cameras caught him marking the cards. If convicted, Karas could resist three years in jail.

"The defendant's luck ran out way to extraordinary cooperation between several different law enforcement agencies who worked together to research and prosecute this case," said District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, when announcing the fees on Friday.

The poker community have been hit with several high profile arrests during the last few years. While poker players are known for his or her prowess and instincts, many have also become skilled in knowing the fine details on the casinos they play on this. sometimes results in players, comparable to Karas, trying to profit from that knowledge illegally.

Karas has not yet been accused of cheating in some other casinos, but if authorities searched his house, they discovered hollowed out chips very similar to those he was using to cheat the California casino. The execution of the cheating scheme included Karas using a dye that he put throughout the hollowed out chips. When rolled over the playing cards, the chips would create a mark at the cards.

Karas was arrested in his Las Vegas home, and extradited to San Diego, where he was arraigned.

Christie Talks Billions As New Jersey Online Gambling Ads Air

Published on December 3, 2013 by Tom Jones

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has championed the cause to bring regulated Internet gambling to his state. Now that online gambling is a reality in New Jersey, Christie stayed strong this week regarding his expectations from the industry.

Online casinos went live late last week in New Jersey, and the early returns haven't been what was expected. The slow start, however, has not deterred Christie's prognostication for revenue. Christie still believes online gambling revenue will top $1 billion by next summer.

In the week since online gambling went live, the state reported over 37,000 accounts which have been created. The numbers, in keeping with some experts, would possibly not accurately represent what number of people signed up on the online casinos.

"There were over a handful of casinos that went live last week, and gamblers are likely to arrange accounts at several different gambling locations," said analyst Travis Harken. "So while there have been almost 40,00 accounts created, there's a good chance that a significant portion of these accounts might be multiple accounts by individual gamblers at different online sites."

While the state monitors the primary week of action, online casinos have pop out strong of their effort to lure gamblers. Betfair, and a number of other online sites that experience opened, have started ad campaigns on television stations aimed toward bringing gamblers in.

During Monday Night Football on ESPN, Betfair ran ads touting the legality of online gambling in New Jersey, and inspiring gamblers to enroll in accounts. Betfair offered free play in exchange for initial deposits from gamblers. The ads in New Jersey have followed similar ads which can be being run in Nevada.

"It's eye-opening," said Harken. "Gamblers within the US have never seen this sort of advertising pressure for online gambling, and it isn't yet known how they are going to react. Similar to ads for other products akin to liquor and automobiles, ads for online gambling during physical activities is viewed as an efficient tool for marketers."
