6:25pm: Dinner break

6:20pm: What a way to survive
A very entertaining hand just took place over on Charlie Combes' table. Kestutis Kristapaitis made a raise ("he's played every hand since has sat down," Combes told us) and Luke Perrot shoved for his remaining chips - about 40,000. It was folded around to Daniel Aslund who flatted, as did the original raiser. Perrot was over the side pot and had a chance to triple up, but play would continue between the other two.
The flop came 7♦Q♠8♠ and both players checked. The 6♦ arrived on the turn and this time Aslund led out for 30,000, which Kristapaitis called. Aslund then checked the 6♥ river, resulting in the Lithuanian moving all in. It was an absolutely agonising decision for Aslund, meanwhile Perrot waited patiently to discover his fate. With so much action after his all-in, he can't have been too confident holding just K♠J♦ for only king high.
It took Aslund a good five minutes and eventually the clock was called and counted all the way down. His hand was dead he frustratingly threw it into the muck, only for Kristapaitis to turn over J♠3♠ for nothing but a busted flush draw. Perrot was stunned and now sits with 136,000; it just goes to show, it's not over until it's over. --JS
6:10pm: More chopping than a lumberjack competition
Ben Vinson and Richard Blacklock just tangled in a pot that reached showdown...
Vinson opened to 11,500 from the cut off and Blacklock peeled from the small blind. On the 5♠2♣4♣ flop Blacklock checked and then called Vinson's c-bet of 14,000. The 6♥ was an interesting turn card, Vinson bet again - this time 19,000 - and again Blacklock called. The 3♥ river put a straight on board and both players elected to take a free showdown. Blacklock opend A♠J♥ and Vinson showed Q♠9♠. Split pot! -- NW
6pm: One in, one out
We've already lost two full tables of players since the bubble burst and Adam Owen is one of those who's departed.
He three-bet shoved for 85,500 over the top of Sam Mitten-laurence's 13,000 chip open. Two seats to his left Chris Gordon then shoved for 94,500 and Mitten-laurence left them to it.
The 4♠T♣J♦5♠A♦ board brought no joy for Owen and he was out in 138th place.
Meanwhile on another table.... Renee Xie was all-in for 30,000 and had been called in two spots. On the 6♠J♦3♣ flop Robert White shoved and Ian Gwynne passed. Xie tabled A♠K♠ and stood up to leave, but she was ahead of White's A♥Q♦. The 8♥ turn and 9♣ river kept her in front and she sat back down. "I thought I must be beat," she said as she began stacking her chips. -- NW
5:50pm: Gulbar Akram first to collect
The 'beard of the tournament' award to Mr. Gulbar Akram, and he was the first person to bust out after the bubble had burst. Akram collects £1,760 for his efforts. --JS
5:30pm: Lucky double for Day 1D Chipleader
Remi 'ctrl+c' Wyrzykiewicz went from being the chipleader at the end of his Day 1 to almost going out on the stone bubble here on Day 2. He got it in with A♥J♥ against Jamie O'Connor's A♣K♠ but the J♠ arrived on the turn to give him the double up. He now sits with 281,500. --JS
5:20pm: Chuck Khuu bubbles UKIPT5 Nottingham
Some bubbles take an age to burst, others are gone before they even arrived and it was one of the latter in Nottingham as there was no hand for hand play on the bubble as a player busted on the hand before play was due to go hand for hand.
That player was Chuck Khuu, he three-bet shoved for 111,000 over the top of an 11,000 chip open from Ben Longstaff and a call from Alexander Beck. When it folded back to Longstaff he got a count of the shove and called, Beck meanwhile passed.

The board ran T♣8♥9♥8♠5♠ and a dejected Khuu couldn't believe what had happened. Longstaff is up to 560,000 and is the chip leader, everyone else - regardless of stack - is now in the money with £1,760 locked up. -- NW
5:20pm: Blacklock on how he got his stack
We're now just three from the money and Richard Blacklock is one of the biggest stacks in the room. He was kind enough to tell us how he got his stack of 465,000
His big boost came in a hand against a Dutch player, Blacklock was the effective stack with 210,000 and opened to 5,100 (at 1,200/2,400) from the cut off with 7♥6♥, his opponent three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind and Blacklock called. The flop was [6][3][2] with one heart and Blacklock called a bet of 24,000. The turn was the K♥ and Blacklock paid 35,000 to stick around. On the 6♠ river his opponent led for 75,000, Blacklock shoved for 135,000 and his opponent called with [6][4] so the seven played and Blacklock rocketed up the chip counts. --NW

5:15pm: Mind on the money and money on the mind
Play has really tightened up over the past half an hour as we approach the bubble. We're just seven players away now and the short stacks will be hoping to hang on long enough to get a £1,760 payout. A quick walk around the room and we saw Jamie O'Connor, Charlie Combes and Ludovic Geilich continue to put the pressure on. --JS
5pm: Just a dozen down to go
Just 164 players remain, with 151 getting paid, when 12 players are eliminated we'll be on the bubble. Among those to have exited recently are: Rhys Jones, Marc McDonnell, Jason Wheeler, Emma Tolley and Chris Dowling. --NW

4:35pm: Higgins says goodbye

3:35pm: Sick run out for Deadman
A dejected looking Simon Deadman was sitting at a table in the bar area, a sure sign that he'd recently exited the tournament. He was kind enough to fill us in on how he busted though. "It was a pretty sick one to be honest," he began. "Not the hand, but the run out. Under-the-gun opened to 6,500, next to act I jammed about 65,000 with pocket jacks and got a call from seat eight (Patrick Clarke) with ace-king. The flop was [J][6][7] and we didn't win."
Deadman went on to say that the turn was the T♠ and the river the Q♠ giving Clarke both a straight and a flush. Clarke, who won the Irish Open last year, is up to 335,000. -- NW
3:20pm: Tinnion going strong
Two time Sunday Million winner Rob Tinnion is having a great Day 2 so far, sitting with about 390,000 which might be enough for the chip lead. --JS
3:10pm: Gomez takes a knock
The stack of former chipleader Diego Gomez just took a small hit. After opening to 6,200 he was three-bet by Liam O'Brien, who clicked it back for 12,400. Diego made a quick call and the first of five potential community cards were 7♣5♦7♥. Gomez checked and O'Brien continued for around 16,000. It was called and the turn brought the A♦, which both players checked. The river was an 8♥ and O'Brien led for 31,000 after it was checked to him. Gomez threw out one black 100 chip to indicate a call but mucked when O'Brien showed 8♦8♣ for trips. --JS
3:05pm: Fallers

3pm: Big hand for Bosley
Our thanks to Stuart Kinghorn for telling us about a big hand involving his friend Ian 'Boz' Bosley, who is now one of the chip leaders.
Both Bosley and his opponent started the hand with around 180,000 and the majority of those chips went in on the turn of a [7][A][10][6] board, Bosely held pocket sevens, his opponent [9][8], however a ten on the river gave Bosley a house and a chip stack of 360,000. He's right up there now. -- NW

2:45pm: Clock called on Taylor
An interesting - and long - hand just took place. Let's start at the beginning.
It was folded around to Andrew Murphy who moved all-in for his last 17,000. Dean Hutchinson made the call and it was folded to Guy Taylor in the big blind, who seemingly decided it was a good opportunity to try and isolate the all-in player. He made it 38,000 which meant Hutchinson needed to put it another 21,000 to see a flop. He made the call, however, and we had a large side pot brewing whilst Murphy could only watch.
The flop was 9♥A♦3♠, which saw Taylor continue his aggression with a 25,000 bet. Hutchinson made the call, and Murphy started to get up as if he knew his tournament was over. He'd end up hanging around a bit longer though, as the 3♥ turn was a long one.
Taylor checked and Hutchinson bet 35,000, which caused Taylor to go deep into the tank. After about five minutes the clock was called, and the seconds for a decision to be made were ticking down. With just three seconds left to act, Taylor made the call and we went to the river.
This street didn't take long, though; it was checked around and Taylor announced "just an ace". Murphy showed the K♣Q♣ and was knocked out, whilst Hutchinson's pocket queens were also defeated. With A♠Q♦, Taylor raked in a massive pot of around 216,000. --JS
2:30pm: Swell start for Wellend
Mike Wellend is a cash game player who plays the occasional live tournament. He came back today with just 17,000 but has gone on some spin up and now sits with 220,000. "I got lucky when I four-bet shoved ace-queen into kings and got there, but the big one was when I had queens and knocked out two players in the same hand, they had nines and ace-king," he told us. -- NW

2:10pm: Aslund reps an ace
After a A♠A♥7♠ flop fell, Keith Johnson checked over to Daniel Aslund who bet 8,000. Johnson called and we saw a turn - the 4♥. Johnson checked again and Aslund fired out for 14,700, leaving himself 16,500 behind. He was representing an ace and told a consistent story - one that Johnson believed as he laid his hand down. Not all stories are true, of course; Aslund showed the K♠6♥ for complete air. --JS

1:36pm: First break of the day

1:35pm: Set over set
As most players were climbing out of their seats for the first break, a pot was playing out at Paul 'Action' Jackson's table that we thought would be worth sticking around for. The flop was 9♥J♣4♦ and Jakub Krehla had made it 8,200. Jackson three-bet to 21,000 before Daniel Beswick shoved for 62,400. Krehla called quickly and Jackson had a decision on his hands - he clearly had a hand he liked but eventually let it go. It's a good thing he did, as Krehla had flopped a set with 4♣4♠. That's the problem with bottom sets though - there are always two more potential sets out there. Beswick had J♦J♥ and as the turn and river changed nothing, he more than doubled up to around 146,000. --JS
1:30pm: The 100 club
In the opening two level we had 100 eliminations. Members of that unwanted club include: Camilla Reventlow, Paul Nunes, John Eames, Ben Jackson, Tom Middleton, Jon Wong, Jack Salter, Padraig O'Neill and Bryn Kenney. --NW
1:15pm: Trattou put to tough decision
A curious hand just played out at table 38 it lasted about 10 minutes and at the end Mario Trattou was put to a decision for his entire stack.
The action was started by James Tomlin, who raised to 4,500 from under-the-gun, two seats along David Urban capped his cards took a long look around the table and then sat still for so long you wondered if he realised the action was on him. Evidently he did as he three-bet to 10,700, Trattou called this bet from the hijack and when it folded back to him so did Tomlin.
The flop fell 3♠8♣7♠ and three checks followed and the dealer burned and turned the 3♥, both players then checked to Trattou, he bet 11,300 and only Urban called. The 6♥ completed the board, Urban checked, Trattou fired out a bet of 17,000 and Urban responded with a check-raise all-in. This stunned Trattou, he counted out his remaining stack - about 85,000 - and then tank folded. Pot to Urban. -- NW
1:10pm: Combes calls correctly
We arrived at the scene as Charlie 'JIZOINT' Combes, one of the UK's most successful online tournament players, faced a healthy river bet. The board read 8♣2♠J♥7♦3♠ and Aleks Dimitrov had fired out 18,500 back to Combes, who studied the board and thought intently for a minute or so. He ended up making the call, and when he turned over A♣K♦ for just ace high, Dimitrov mucked. Nice call Charlie. --JS
1:05pm: Blanco doesn't get a blank board
All in and at risk of being eliminated Lucas Blanco needed his pocket nines to hold against Sunil Pancholi's A♠Q♠. The Q♣K♣3♣8♦7♠ board favoured the big stack though. "You can't miss," said one of Pancholi's tablemates. He was already a big stack at the start of play and his roll is continuing. -- NW

12:40pm: Day 2 curse continues for Convey
The bust-outs are coming thick and fast during the first level of play. One player who didn't make it to Level 2 is EPT commentator and member of the PokerStars Blog Marc Convey, who walked us through his brief Day 2.
"I'd lost a big pot to Diego Gomez and was down to about 20,000, but it was a hand I could have gone broke in. Then there was a limp from under the gun and seat three (Robert Moss) raised to 5,000. I had pocket jacks and we got it in - he had ace king and sadly it wasn't to be. My curse of Day 2s continues."

12:35pm: Cody can't get there
Jake Cody only came back with a touch over 10 big blinds and sadly the spin up did not go well. He told the PokerStars Blog: "I got it in with a straight flush draw but missed," further investigation unearthed the fact that Cody had A♠5♠ on a [9][6][4][7] two spade board but his opponent held [10][8] for the straight.
It's been a bad level for Team PokerStars Pro as Leo Margets is also out. -- NW
12:20pm: Mixed feelings around the room
Making it through to Day 2 in any tournament is always exciting, but that doesn't mean that there isn't any trepidation. Some players pray to the Gods:

12:10pm: Team Pros unite
With 383 players and a completely random seat draw process, what are the chances that the two remaining PokerStars Team Pros would end up on the same table? We'll leave the maths to you - but that's exactly what's happened as Jake Cody and Leo Margets are both seated together at the beginning of Day 2. --JS
12:05pm: Let's go for Day 2
For the last four days eyes have been glued to the tournament screen waiting for it to tick to 1,000 and reach the guarantee on this £1,000,0000 event. Today eyes will be glued to it waiting for the number to drop lower. The magic number everyone is waiting for is 151. That's how many people will get paid in this event. A total of 381 players return today and we think we'll reach the money sometimes around level 15. We'll be playing 11 levels in total today so will get well beyond the bubble bursting, even if we don't get to the final table.
