As the first weekend of the 2016 TCOOP wound down 2,776 players turned out to play some six-handed, turbo-charged PLO, pushing Event #16's prize pool up to $208,200.00. Half of it ($104,100.00) went into the regular prize pool and the other half comprised the bounty pool. 360 places were paid, with $16,396.87 set aside for first place.
The blinds were up to 70,000/140,000 with seven players remaining. Down to less than three big blinds, short stack bobix12 open-shoved for 397,909 from UTG with [Ac][Kd][4s][3h] and capotinha called with [Ah][8d][7s][5s]. Although bobix12 turned trip fours, capotinha rivered an eight-high straight, the board finishing out [Jd][6d][4h][4d][8s]. Capotinha raked in the 866,000 pot and bobix12 busted one spot shy of the final table.

Final table chip counts
Seat 1: MachineGunMK (4,535,314 in chips)
Seat 2: MissRZ (873,060 in chips)
Seat 3: goofy bolado (808,104 in chips)
Seat 4: NiCe1MF (2,639,996 in chips)
Seat 5: capotinha (3,780,073 in chips)
Seat 6: mattidm_uk (1,243,453 in chips)
On Hand #4, goody bolado picked up [Ac][Ks][Jd][8c] and three-bet shoved over MachineGunMK's opening min-raise. MachineGunMK called and tabled [Kc][Kd][8s][2d]. The [Qd][Tc][6d] flop gave goofy bolado an open-ended straight draw and MachineGunMK a flush draw to go with his overpair. The [Qs] turn improved MachineGunMK to kings and queens, and the [9d] river made MachineGunMK a winning king-high flush over goofy bolado's king-high straight. MachineGunMK pocketed $356.82 in cash, increased his own bounty by the same amount, and goofy bolado hit the rail in sixth place.
Moments later, NiCe1MF opened for 352,000 and Matthias "mattidm_uk" De Meulder moved all-in for 943,453.
NiCe1MF [Ad][Ks][5d][2h]
mattidm_uk [Qh][Qs][4c][3s]
This one wouldn't go De Meulder's way. NiCe1MF hit top two pair on the flop and rivered a wheel on the [As][Kh][3h][2c][4h] board, ending his run in fifth place.
With the blinds up to 80,000/160,000, a baffling hand started out innocently enough when NiCe1MF opened for 352,000 with [As][Qs][3d][2s] and MachineGunMK called from the big blind with [Ac][Qc][9d][7d]. The flop came down [3h][3c][2c] and MachineGunMK checked the nut flush draw over to NiCe1MF, who bet 320,000 with the nut boat. MachineGunMK called and checked again when the [6h] turned. NiCe1MF slyly checked back. The [2d] river missed MachineGunMK entirely, but nevertheless, he bet 712,000. NiCe1MF shoved for 3.2 million and MachineGunMK called the additional 2.5 million... with nothing but the pair of threes on the board. NiCe1MF took down the 7.8 million pot with threes full and took the chip lead, while MachineGunMK fell to 1.47 million.
A few hands later, MachineGunMK doubled to 2.23 million when his aces and jacks bested MiCe1MF's jacks and eights, but two hands later his tournament life was at risk again. MissRZ opened for a min-raise to 400,000 and MachineGunMK called from the big blind. The flop fell [As][8s][3h] and MachineGunMK check-raised all-in for 1.83 million. MIssRZ called.
MachineGunMK [Ah][9h][3d][3s] (trip threes)
MissRZ [Kd][Kc][Qs][Ts] (pair of kings, ace-high flush draw)
The [Js] turn made MissRZ an ace-high flush and MachineGunMK needed to pair the board to survive. Alas, the [7c] rivered and MachineGunMK departed in fourth place.
When three-handed play commenced, NiCe1MF held the chip lead with 6.86 million, MissRZ held 5.03 million, and capotinha was the short stack with 2 million.
Only a few hands passed before NiCe1MF opened for 600,000 from the small blind and capotinha moved all-in for 1.69 million from the big. NiCe1MF called and turned over [Qh][Jh][Jc][3h] while capotinha revealed [Ah][7h][6h][4d]. The board ran out [Td][8s][3s][9d][5c] and NiCe1MF turned a queen-high straight, ending capotinha's run in third place.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 2: MissRZ (4,425,118 in chips)
Seat 4: NiCe1MF (9,454,882 in chips)
NiCe1MF dominated heads-up play and pulled even further away when he took down a 3.36 million pot with a river raise on a[8s][9c][8c][4c][7d] board. NiCe1MF moved up to 11 million in chips and with the blinds up to 125,000/250,000, he opened for 550,000 on the button. MissRZ raised to 1.65 million, NiCe1MF four-bet to 4.95 million and MissRZ called all-in.
NiCe1MF [Kh][5d][4d][2h]
MissRZ [As][Js][7c][6h]
NiCe1MF hit two pair on the [7s][4s][2c] flop while MissRZ made top pair and picked up an ace-high flush draw. However, the [2d] turn made NiCe1MF deuces full of fours and left MissRZ drawing dead. The river [Ks] improved NiCe1MF even further to deuces full of kings, as he locked up his first TCOOP title.
Congratulations to NiCe1MF on joining the ranks of TCOOP champions! All told, NiCe1MF took home $21,415.48 while runner-up MissRZ earned $14,517.16.
