Additional Sites Proposed For Potential Las Vegas NFL StadiumNO Deposit bonus $43

A possible football stadium in Las Vegas that may be home to the now Oakland Raiders could finish up at the Strip, in step with backers of the plan.

Vegas Inc reported that Las Vegas Sands Corp., owned by billionaire Sheldon Adelson, told Nevada officials this week that the location of the closed Riviera casino generally is a good location for the stadium. A WEBSITE near SLS Las Vegas and the land where Cashman Field in Downtown Las Vegas sits are other potential locations.

A 42-acre site on Tropicana Avenue near UNLV isn't any longer as appealing, as a result of traffic concerns, Sands told the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee.

The Committee could also be looking to work out if public funding should pay for nearly all of the project. Public funding would have to be approved by the Silver State Legislature.

The Raiders would also need a minimum of 24 of 32 NFL owners to OK the move.

The stadium could cost between $1.3 billion and $1.6 billion.
