The World Series of Poker can’t start soon enough for 14-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth said on his social media this week that he’s having a losing year so far.
He also hasn’t cashed in a tremendous tournament since October.
Hellmuth said that his regular home game within the Bay Area have been going terribly for him lately. He Tweeted that he had “personal record” losses within the game. He then followed up that performance every week later by losing $100,000 in a cash game in Florida.
Hellmuth’s regular Bay Area game often includes the likes of Chamath Palihapitiya, Zynga Founder Mark Pincus, David Sacks, Jason Calacanis and NBA player David Lee.
Altogether, he has lost roughly $320,000 in recent weeks. However, the downswing can definitely turn around quickly. He had seven cashes in WSOP events last year, including capturing his 14th bracelet. His second final table appearance in 2015 was good for almost $700,000.
