The High Heels Poker Tour, created in 2007 by Lauren Failla in South Florida, has entered into an agreement with PokerStars in which the online operator will sponsor both the tour and school run by High Heels. HHPT is a tour devoted to female poker players, and is dedicated to help women at all levels enhance their game and explore poker in a comfortable environment.
PokerStars.net is the largest online poker school, and will work with the High Heels Poker Tour Academy to "help women gain the knowledge and experience that will better expose the them to the vast growing sport of tournament poker," according to the HHTP press release.
In addition to its own string of events, HHTP will now include satellite tournaments featuring entry into some of PokerStars' big events. Failla praised PokerStars as setting an example for aspiring female poker players.
“With champions like Vanessa Rousso, Katja Thater, and Vicky Coren, our players have a whole new set of role models to emulate and challenge, online and at the tables," stated Failla.
PokerStars will sponsor the HHPT events scheduled around the country, a growing list of tournaments handled by Failla, including three upcoming events in Florida.
HHPT events are restricted to women entries, and in just two years has blossomed to include events in New York, New Orleans, and Las Vegas.
