Over on the World Series of Poker Team Pros were in action, with Daniel Negreanu going deep twice over the weekend.
Negreanu finished in fourth place in Event #13, a $1,500 Seven Card Razz event, ultimately won by American Rep Porter, but a finish (if slightly premature) worth $42,000.
Meanwhile within the 2-7 Lowball Championship Negreanu finished in 14th place, picking up another $15,464. However it was not Negreanu getting the headlines such a lot as team mate Jason Mercier, who leads going into the overall day of the competition.
Mercier leads the overall nine the one player with greater than 1,000,000 chips and in pursuit of what can be his fourth career WSOP bracelet. If that occurs it is going to be against some serious opposition. PCA winner Mike Watson is in second place and Stephen Chidwick in third.
We'll have news of Mercier's progress once we get it.
