The Card Player Poker Tour has returned to the Venetian Las Vegas as a part of the DeepStack Extravaganza III. This weekend, the CPPT wraps up the summer with the $5,000 buy-in main event, which includes a $2 million guarantee.
The tournament kicks off at noon with three starting flights scheduled for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Each player will start with 25,000 in chips and a generous structure that includes 75-minute levels on day 1, and 90-minute levels from then on.
Each starting flight will play eight levels and registration is open until the beginning of level 10 on day 2. Players may re-enter once per starting flight and will qualify for day 2 multiple times with their best stack moving forward.

The main event marks the culmination of ten weeks of action-packed tournament poker on the Venetian. Named by USA Today as the most effective poker series outside of the arena Series of Poker, DeepStack III boasted a summer schedule that offered greater than 110 tournaments and upwards of $16 million in guaranteed prize pools in its two segments: DeepStack Extravaganza III Warm-up and DeepStack Extravaganza III.
The CPPT made its last appearance on the Venetian back in 2013. That event was won by Card Player’s own Allyn Shulman, who picked up the $293,966 first-place prize.
The Card Player live updates team can be available to report at the action on a daily basis until a champion is crowned on Friday, July 22.
