The 2016 World Series of Poker is already in full swing, and because it goes I'LL continue to share some hands I played during last summer's WSOP with a purpose to attempt to draw some lessons worth keeping in mind going forward.

This week's hand comes from the $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event. As you will see below, the hand comes from early on Day 1 when the stacks are still deep all around.

The blinds are 50/100 and i have chipped down from the starting stack of 30,000 to 25,000 to start the hand. It folds to a loose-aggressive player at the button who raises to 300. (By the way, within the video I talk slightly about how I've already pegged this player as loose-aggressive despite it being so early within the day, highlighting one of the most ways you may make those reads quickly on the table.)

I look down at and get in touch with the raise, and the 2 folks see a flop of . I check and my opponent bets 400, and that i decide to check-raise bluff. While these aggressive plays could appear quite risky, there's significant value in having the ability to impose your will on the table in place of being on the mercy of the cards.

The hand ended up presenting a couple of interesting postflop decisions. It also shows the worth of playing back against loose-aggressive players to your right with a purpose to get them to prevent applying pressure on you, particularly early on in a session or tournament.
