Poker Pro Sentenced In Big apple High Stakes Game Case

The state of recent York has seen some infamous people come through, but perhaps none were as big within the poker game as Edwin Ting. The poker pro was saddled with the duty of bringing together one of the vital largest poker gamblers within the world.

Ting assembled the players at various locations across the city, and his guest lists included celebrities, and sports heroes corresponding to Alex Rodriguez. Eventually, the feds caught up with Ting, and arrested him for operating the illegal operation.

This week, Ting was sentenced to 5 months in prison for his role in what authorities described because the largest, and probably the most sophisticated poker games within the history of latest York. The game, consistent with prosecutors, had ties to the Russian mafia, and taken in millions of dollars.

In addition to his role of organizing the games, Ting was liable for bringing in players that would easily be beaten by the pros on the game. The sport itself, don't have been illegal if not for the rake that Ting and the home took from each hand. Big apple law states that during a house game, the home cannot take a rake from the pot.

The case was widely publicized on account of its size in nature. Over 30 defendants were arrested and charged, and 25 of these defendants have already accepted plea deals and feature pleaded guilty. Ting has also agreed to forfeit $2 million within the case.

This isn't the first time that Ting was arrested and sent to prison for gambling. Back in 2005, Ting was arrested and convicted on charges of operating an illegal gambling business. Prosecutors referenced Ting's "...breaking the law again" when asking the judge within the current case to condemn Ting to 6 to ten months.
