Las Vegas has always been a spot that was related to the Wild West. Even if East Coast mobsters launched into a gaming expedition and opened one of the most historic casinos in US history, there has been a sense that town represented more of the West Coast than the East.
In recent years, the town has began to shed that Wild West reputation. More recently, during the last few months, some new establishments was opened, including a brand new casino resort, that bring Las Vegas into the trendy era of casino gaming.
Las Vegas is understood for its elaborate Strip, where the glitz and glamor of a few of essentially the most famous celebrities may also be seen throughout. On the subject of twenty minutes north of the Strip resides Downtown Las Vegas, a spot where, up until the past few years, had remained within the shadow in their glitzy neighbors to the south.
The Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino is making an attempt to shed the old West reputation, by bringing within the showgirls, slot machines, and massive lights that experience defined the strip over time. Additionally, there were restaurants, shops, and other boutiques that experience opened along side the Downtown Grand, completing the hassle to revitalize the town.
Back in 2006, the girl Luck casino, which opened in 1964, closed its doors for good. Originally it was only intended to be closed for renovation, however the owners never came through with those renovations, and in 2009, the casino was given up on by city officials.
With Lady Luck eventually demolished, it prepared the ground for the Downtown Grand to be built. The casino resort opened in October, and was thriving because the centerpiece to the city's transformation from oldschool to new.
"The Lady Luck stood empty and sad for therefore long," said former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. "To have a hotel come again revitalized, almost entirely rebuilt and to make any such mark here's simply incredible."
