Poker Night in America has signed a printed agreement with CBS Sports Network with the intention to bring the poker-themed television show to a countrywide audience for the primary time.
The series will run for 26 consecutive weeks, starting on June 29th, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. The Sunday night weekly broadcasts will run during the last Sunday in December.
“We’re making poker fun again – that’s our real goal,” said Todd Anderson, the show’s creator and president in a prepared statement. “We think poker players and fans has been in search of something new and fresh for an extended time.”
According to company press materials, the handle CBS Sports Network, that's available in over 99 million American households, is predicted to improve enthusiasm for a game that first took off in 2003. With a guaranteed mixture of interesting characters, from professional poker players to total amateurs, there’s so much to cheer for, dependent on the player and where the development is happening. The show’s creators envision something new each week as a result of revolving cast of characters. Show episodes and notable stars from each show might be announced soon.
Poker Night in America has already filmed at four locations so far—Turning Stone Resort in New York, the Reno Peppermill in Nevada, Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania and most recently at Maryland Live! in Maryland.
