Ohio State's odds plummet with Braxton injury

USA TODAY Sports

Ohio State quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate, Braxton Miller, will miss the school football season with a shoulder injury and the Buckeyes' odds to win the national championship game in January took an important hit.

Ohio State dropped all of the way 50/1 to win the national championship game after being listed at 12/1 before the scoop of Miller's injury broke, consistent with LV Superbook.

Other books had Ohio State's odds even lower. Sportsbook.ag stated that they were dealing the Buckeyes at 75-1 when news hit that Miller would miss the season."It’s an enormous effect, hence we closed their Season Wins in addition to the large Ten Championship," says Peter Childs of Sportsbook.ag. "We’ll further discuss, but they go from contender to an after thought if he’s out for the season."However, shortly after posting Ohio State odds back on their board, Childs confirmed that they received two limit bets on Ohio State, forcing them to transport to 65-1.

Ohio State is ranked No. 5 within the preseason Associated Press poll and is regarded as a contender to land one of the crucial berths within the four-team playoff to figure out a countrywide champion this season.
